The guy I used to work out with is now a roomie. We were talking. We studied some martial arts of different disciplines and each of us was a force to be reckoned with. That is not saying it is so today.

We were talking about if a guy walked in with a gun right now and he described what his action would be. There is an endtable that is pretty solid, made out of decking is seems so it is heavier than it looks. So he said "I would go like this" , puts his hand on the table but lets go and whips his arm. In other words get the guy down before he can get a shot off. Shove the table down his throat so to speak. And even if he does shoot the density of the table might reflect, deflect or refract the bullet's trajectory. The guy would be quite sorry. Why ?

Because he brought a gun to a table fight.
