Excellent documentary.

Thanks for the heads up, Carrie, but sadly, with this pc/connection, the only streaming going on is the stream of obscenities flying out of my mouth lol.

Excellent documentary.

I agree and it hits me in the gut each time I see it.  If you enjoyed it, I would suggest you also check out the short film Notes.On.Milk .  Here's a brief synopsis taken from the PBS/POV website...

quote:

Notes on Milk is a short variation of the 2007 feature documentary Milk in the Land: Ballad of an American Drink. Ariana Gerstein and Monteith McCollum, whose Hybrid aired on POV in 2002, take a quirky and poetic look at some lesser-known aspects of America’s favorite drink: the industry’s spiritual underpinnings, politics and the struggle of independent farmers.

It's only 20 mins. long...just enough to pique your interest and leave you looking for more information.

You could also check out the book "Everything I want to do is Illegal" by Joel Salatin, the owner of Polyface Farm mentioned in Food,Inc. http://www.polyfacefarms.com/books.aspx

Just watched Food Inc. on my PBS station, it is an absolute disgrace what food production has become in this country. Thank heavens I am a vegetarian (even tho monsanto still profits)>
