The best way to find someone is probably to start hitting up the local munchs and attending events. Our local scene is very friendly to newcomers as long as they are respectful to everyone.

A munch is a fancy term for a social get together of other kinksters. Usually over dinner or lunch or brunch or some other eating type location.

from what i understand it's a nice way to get a point across as well as have a familiarity for the subject among peers- i've been invited to several events in themed bdsm clubs that are just too extreme of an environment for my level. munches are a great alternative.
