This is not a fair fight. Can't we tie brainiacs hands behind her back?

Not just yet. She's got both arms out to balance herself along this tightrope. I want to wait until she's all the way in the middle before we start shaking the line.

C'mon, Brainia. All Republicans can be identified and held to the values and positions of one vocal portion of the party base. Please, continue.

Rich...if you go back, what she said was not that all Reps should be identified with one vocal portion...But one vocal portion, and a very hypocritical one at that, are all Republicans.

Most Republicans don't go far enough to separate themselves form this group, in fact, I'd say most cater to it... so when they fall, as they all do, it just makes it all the more sweeter!!!

Everyone loves hypocrites exposed unless of course it is ourselves. then not nearly as much fun.

Hows trix?

Rich, I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you?

I'm just letting you dig yourself a hole, Love. Religious values aren't the only values that politicians pay lots of lip service to when it suits their purposes.

I'll just have to get back to you. The welfare recipients are depending on me, after all.

Life is good, DG. My brother is home from Iraq with all the parts and pieces where they were when he deployed, so the grill and ice-chest are going to be working overtime for a couple days.

What's your point?

Obama admitted to it and Bush, in his usual weaselly manner dodged the questions about his drug use repeatedly.

Admission is a good way to turn off the heat in politics, RML. Bush's answer was sufficient to handle anybody who might have come forward that saw him smoke a joint or snort a line. Obama's admission clearly reveals that he was much more into drugs, with a lot more potential eyewitnesses to that fact, than Bush ever was.

Then we have that 17 minute answer not so long ago... Are you guys sure you want to be going down this path?

Actually if you Google it you will find many witnesses that claim Bush used coke, including an ex-sister-in-law.

Myself, I don't really care whether they did or not, but the contrast between Bush, and Clinton for that matter, trying to tread a fine line between truth and an outright lie is a pretty stark contrast to Obama openly admitting it.

Dig myself a hole? I already stated and gave an example of a prominant politician's hypocricy that wasn't based on religious values. That doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of public scandals involving hypocritical behavior by politicians/prominant Republicans has been based on violation of stated religious values/principles.

I'm not in a hole. I have the high ground on this one.

Of course, it stands to follow that because all people who are religious are supposed to be perfect, there's automatic justification for calling them hypocrites when they turn out to be human.

When one pimps a certain lifestyle as the "moral majority"is want to do, then consistantly violate the tennants of that lifestyle and when busted claim to be only human is nothing but hypocrisy.
No one expects them to be perfect but to hold others to a standard that they will not be held to is unadulterated bullshit.
For you to try to condone it brings your credibility to question. It is a given that all politicians are scum...some scummier than others but one cannot but admire the candor of a Huey Long or an Andrew Jackson even while disagreeing with their policies.
The only difference between the bush and clinton description of their drug use was that clinton is a far better liar...he could tell you to go to hell and get you to ask for directions...slick was a name he earned.

Lets suppose your taxable income is $100,000 How much of that is tax and how much of that tax goes to those welfare recipients that are depending on you?

No, the point she is trying to make, that you obviously are willfully ignoring, is that the Republican Party promotes itself as the party of family values.

And to that end they are the first to criticize the moral failings of their opponents, hence the $80 million we spent so the Republicans could find out that Bubba couldn't keep his dick in his pants.

But then what happened?

A number of those who denounced Clinton as a "scumbag" and unfit for office because of his extra-marital affairs were then caught up in their own sex scandals, including Dan Burton, Newt Gingrich, and Larry Craig, among others.

Yet you don't see the hypocrisy there?
