I should have been born knowing, like everybody else.
I should just believe as they perceive, and not try seeing for myself.
I should close off my ears, so not to hear, the discrepancy in their words.
I should shut my mouth; bite my tongue; live out my days in fear.
I should never step, nor try to think, without checking with authority first.
I should judge by emotion, act out of pride; take all I can, with greed in my eyes…
I should be you.
If only, I were born knowing.
