No Hunky, you sitll don't quite get it.
People with that power urge have common traits. Wi sh there was a simpler way to put this, but here gows.
Your average person willl fuck you over in a heartbeat if it is worth his while. You see, people like us who have grown beyond that stage are not all that common and that includes all walks of life, inculding the oval office and beyond. It cuts through every socila strata and class like a razor. You may see your fellow Man as a fellow Man, but hose with power see all of us as a herd of cattle, or a crop top be sown. That is the basic difference. This is classless, even though the hubristic lower class only sees their personal gain, if any.
When I was making an "extra" grand week seling TVa out the house, after the call when they showed up, I would answer the door and before I did I would say "They ain't leaving here without a TV". And it was true, my sales success was literally 100%. I know how to present, I know when to shutup and I know how to close. I had the lust for money, I knew I could make a sale and had some cheaper things in case they were plannning on "Jewing" me down too much. They did not leave without a TV, and what made me spur it on was the fact - Why are they here ?
I played on their own desires. I did very well, and I never had to get up before noon after while and I could make a qu8ick couple hundred any day down in the basement, but usually it took a day to get the money.
I ws literally sending someone to the store for beer and whatever, collecting the money and answering the phone selling the "same" unit off the same ad in the paper. While my people were going to the store, or the connect, or whatever, I was answering the phone as the buyers were loading the TV into the car, and the caller would ask "Still got that 25" Zenith for sale ? ", and I would say yes. As soon as the current buyer was gone, another unit that matched the description was in it's place, hooked up and running. The they buy that. At $125 each, my cost being about fifty bucks if that, I was making it. Bigtime. I also had a full time job for a time and another parttime job. Two actually.
So averaging $440 a week at the fulltime, minus taxes, I was making about 150 take home from another job, another 200 from this gig I did with my buddy who owned a video store, to the tune of at least another couple of hundred a week, how much did I make ? And realize this was the early 1990s, what did gasoline cost then ?
Cops have a bit of that in them, that lust. When I had it I simply could not spend enough money. The only thing I didn't take to was boats. If I ever buy a boat shoot me. In fact there are probably two I could just borrow, but one s a 40' yacht, sailing vessel. I do not know how to pilot the craft well so I will not borrow it.
But the power routine in peoples' minds does exist. To what extent and how it manifests itself is a diffwerent subject, and perhaps THE subject.
So in essence what all this means is that the dead Woman in that ditch or whatever, to them, was indeed a dead animal.
