I'm surprised the site is allowed to function on Facebook. I believe in freedom of speech, until it becomes hate and wishing death upon someone, much less the president.

I didn't like Bush, but never wished the man dead.

Facebook Group 'Praying' For President Obama's Death Passes 1 Million Members

A Facebook group accused of "praying" for the death of President Barack Obama has raised controversy online, with many calling for Facebook to remove the group as "offensive speech."

The group, which lists its location as "Marysville, OH, 43040," currently has over 1 million members--Facebook users who say they "like" the group. It includes an album of anti-Obama imagery uploaded by the group's members--what Facebook labels "fan photos--that show the president against a communist flag, juxtaposed with insulting and derisive captions, or even a cartoon "associating Obama to Hitler."

The group is called, "DEAR LORD, THIS YEAR YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTOR, PATRICK SWAYZIE. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTRESS, FARAH FAWCETT. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE SINGER, MICHAEL JACKSON. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, MY FAVORITE PRESIDENT IS BARACK OBAMA. AMEN."

Its the creation of Homeland Security - they put it out there to trawl for inmates for the detention camps that are springing up everywhere to "resettle" those who disagree with socialism. I mean, why bother investigating dissidents when they will gladly come forward and register?

I pray daily for the untimely deaths of all the people who ruin perfectly good bars by singing karaoke.

They're stupid. That would leave us with Joe Biden...

Is it just me, or have Presidents been picking their Vice Presidents as a means of protection?  "If you kill me, you get stuck with this guy!"  Names like Cheney and Quayle leap to mind.

The sad part is how many of the people I know who joined are of the "good christian" sort.  It is entertaining to watch them get red faced and angry simply being asked if this is really what their faith is about.

When christian faith encourages the prayer for death of anyone its time to re-evaluate your belief system. Having said that, if/when judgement day hits, god will look at them and say... "you got some s'plainin to do!"

Not only Biden. The hearse would have long coat tails for the rest of his party to ride. I want him back home in Chicago, cleaning up Bo's piles on the Rezco Lawn.

As for the OP, I would expect nothing less than a declaration of support for free speech as long as he approves of it.

I'll never understand why so many Christians think God just isn't up to the job.

Maybe they should elect someone better qualified.

Didnt the republicans hold a prayer to defeat the health care bill? Perhaps they need to start considering god isnt on their side anymore.

--LOL.   The group is silly.

One is not really supposed to wish bad things on others.  Revenge is not a good thing.

Puleeeze god, help me thru this one, and I promise I'll help myself thru the next one.

Personally, I don't know anyone who joined that site, nor can I think of anyone who would. Maybe you should rethink your circle of friends.[8|]

Not sure about the repubs, but I do remember watching the vote for the Health Care Bill that just passed. There was a democrat congresswomen from Texas, who went on and on about how her church had gotten together the morning of the vote to pray for it to pass. Funny, because I don't remember anyone bitching about it and I am pretty sure if she had been a repub, they would have.
