I would predict CP USA will gain some ground in near future as the economy for lower income earners will get worse. The  poor are the major breeding ground for the communists.

With respect this is complete and utter rubbish.

Communism is just like capitalism - an elite of the rich ruling the proletariat with the illusion of freedom and power. The capitalist West uses credit and bank loans to give the illusion of freedom and power through consumer spending pretty much in the same way as former Eastern European communists used cheap vodka, milk bars and culture.

Communism abused the theory of Marx and socialist principles lying to the poor and telling them they were working for each other. Just like the myth of the taxpayer paying for everything.

If communism was so attractive to poor people there would never have been the Polish Solidarity movement, and people would not be trying to leave communist countries like China, Cuba, North Korea and the former Soviet Union.

Both communism and free market capitalism rely on a totalitarian regime ruled by the rich whilst giving the illusion of freedom and working for the common good.

I have to say, for the most part, the supporters of communism were never "the poor" but rather middle class intellectuals. Both in the USSR and the USA.

Not sure about the USA....but in Central and Eastern Europe....you tended to find that the industrial/urban working class areas were sympathetic towards Communism....unlike the rural areas. In Russia....there was a peasants rising involving hundreds of thousands of people who weren't particularly pleased with having their livelihood being subject to collective farming....which was ruthlessly crushed.

Though....yeah....revolutions are led by the Middle Classes....under the guise of 'setting people free'....and they rapidly descend into chaos and coercion.

well this was going into something much deeper where ken was sorta on the right trail.

You sort of tickled it.

today they do not strangle people and march over and take their food etc like the did in russia etc.

They do it by incremental proxy with the use of money which is dead smack on target regarding the OP.

Actually you dont need to worry about the communists, it is going to be the smokers in the US who take over after the nicotine riots of 2011

The law in question is unconstitutional. It was found to be so by a federal judge in Arizona in 1973 and was not appealed. Since then no one has attempted to enforce the law. Any attempt to enforce it would definitely result in the law being tossed out again.

Thanks, DomKen.  My point was that no law means anything until interpreted by a judge.  The interpretation that you cite nullified the whole damn thing.
