patina -> romance mishaps? (4/30/2010 8:01:23 PM)

Alyissa Maliano has a new show about romance mishaps, things going wrong.  she is a lawyer and a div mother of a 15 yr old her younger sister is a young cutie always dating the wrong guy.  Her 2 best straight  male  friends, share an apt the floor above her.  The show is set in NY.

The first show had one guy going out on a date with a girl, and she wanted him to spank her, then she wanted him to call her dirty names, to choke her, say she was a slut, a cunt, whore, who needed  to be tied to a post and whipped.  Later she asked him to do other things to her.  i thought the BDSM was very tastefully done they made it funny but not too shocking but somewhat so.

One guy would get a kick out of the idea and the other guy was interested but scared of  it.  The girls were not sure they were kind of surprised and shocked but not really disgusted,  i hope they do more of it.  The second had none of it n the story line.  What did others think of it?

Sounds like a watered down version of Sex in the City.

Are these real dates or is it a like a candid camera "Surprise, we wrecked your car, not really" kinda thing?

I found this here: http://www.helium.com/items/1809447-tv-show-reviews-romantically-challenged

Even if you are a fan of Alyssa Milano, it will take some real effort to choke down this comedy which in my view, was a poorly thought-out try at copying the long-time hit comedy “Friends”. The four start out discussing dating in a café/diner and the show ends with the four in the café/diner. Of these four, only Lisa Thomas holds the comedic interest – Milano seemed to be forcing out a dimwit side of herself in order to get a few laughs. During scenes, her face would go askew and her smile appeared awkward so that she seemed witty but there is nothing witty about her character. The show had nothing more than bad jokes, weird faces, and playing dumb to get a giggle.

One has to wonder if ABC knew this show just wouldn’t cut it with viewers and were looking to test the waters. It’s already late in the TV season, the few episodes that have been made are being shown out of order, and Kyle Bornheimer who plays Perry Gill has already lined up a new gig with another pilot for next season.
