Maybe it was that course in "serving the client"

Or perhaps you wind up developing a fetish for the power-hungry judges who think all lawyers should kiss their honorary bottoms.  Just a thought.

Yes I usually can. I call it my "subdar" . It is a distant cousin to my gaydar!

There's a woman I know is dominant and I'm pretty sure she knows I'm submissive, because occasionally I'll try to push *her* buttons and she'll give me a glare that'll just silence me in an instant. A certain way of dragging on the cigarette... well, she doesn't smoke anymore. But that situation's all muddled for different reasons, which is a shame... it's good to hear confirmation that this happens though.

That, or the dominant female boss in a law firm or corporate setting, or when you're negotiating with opposing counsel and she's trying to be as dominant as she can.

How often do the dommes wish they could push a little harder when they are in a professional situation with a man they suspect is submissive?  If you are in a private conversation and sense his will slipping, do you ever investigate that, or is it too risky?

Yes, I find them most often in the service industry, especially working in restaurants.  My favorite experience had my friends (all SM oriented) in fits of giggles as I figured out that this "boy" was really tremendously submissive.  He said "Yes Ma'am" and meant it and blushed, darting away from the table when I'd ask for something or send him back when something wasn't right.  In the end, he fed me the last mouthful of my dessert off my fork. He thanked us a thousand times for "the experience" and said that we were his most favorite customers of all time.

(And he was tipped incredibly well, might I add.)

wow.....you had him pegged....

What about a more "traditional" professional? (lawyer, banker, etc.)

Interesting question subapplicant!

Ok, multiple points here -

Yes, I have frequently just "known" when someone is sub.  If I want confirmation I will do subtle things, such as make direct and forceful eye contact - I'm not looking for him to break first exactly, its something indefinable in the expression for Me.  I will also invade his body space or step into him, especially if I can maneuver him in front of a solid object or wall...I may place My foot between his...his responses (leaning away, intake of breath, breathing in the scent of My hair or perfume, closing his eyes) give the confirmation I'm seeking.

    Hi,
I  just joined today.  Since I had the day off due to a twisted ankle, I've had time to read from many of these forums.  I must say, the easing "into his bodyspace" with him inhaling the scent of you, is quite true.  I can remember my ex doing this when we first met.

Hope I am not intruding on you guys.
