cuckoldmepls -> Fox News Poll On Az Immigration Law (5/2/2010 8:36:05 AM)

It's running 94% in support of Arizona. The way I look at it, if the government won't do anything about it especially after the farmer was killed and now a deputy has been shot with an AK-47, then each state must.

I also fail to see how any law that supports current federal Immigration law, and yet is not as severe as current federal Immigration law can be unconstitutional. The current federal penalty for crossing the border illegally is a $5,000 fine and deportation.

Dude, its faux news. Enough said. Find a real poll and then maybe post it.

Isn't a poll on a Fox News site sort of like preaching to the choir?

The Hypocrisy of a liberal always amazes me. The liberals have 4 major news news networks in their back pocket, (nbc, abc, cbs, and cnn) yet they still have the nerve to complain about one network who is willing to show the other side. I never hesitate to vote in any poll of this magnitude no matter which network it's on. I think this is the same hypocrisy where liberals scream for everyone to be tolerant of their agenda, yet they themselves are totally intolerant of any viewpoint other than their own.

Bullshit!

More conservative whining.

Fox News is openly biased, as MSNBC is on the liberal side.

To compare either to news organizations that at least make a conscious effort to avoid partisanship is a joke.

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Fox News Poll On Az Immigration Law (5/2/2010 8:56:46 AM)

Something else that amazes me, is that the black unemployment rate is officially over 16% according to the bureau of labor statistics, probably 20% in reality, and yet mr. dom has no concern for his fellow African Americans who sometimes are forced into selling drugs to make a living. Eventually ending up in prison. I think there's a term for that called sociopath, where someone doesn't have any empathy for their fellow citizens and neighbors.

IdiotMale -> RE: Fox News Poll On Az Immigration Law (5/2/2010 8:59:59 AM)

No one is forced into selling drugs..They do it out of ignorance, stupidity, laziness and the lure of easy money. Quit blaming government for people being stupid.

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Fox News Poll On Az Immigration Law (5/2/2010 9:01:29 AM)

By the way, who wants to claim my governator avatar. I no longer have any respect for him after he went on jay leno and said he would never sign a law like Arizona's. Of course he wouldn't. He would rather California go bankrupt, since obama will bail him out with our money.

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Fox News Poll On Az Immigration Law (5/2/2010 9:06:42 AM)

I beg to differ, if you are a minority, and there are no factory jobs or residual jobs near by from the factory payroll, you can't just hop in a car and drive to another city to get a job without knowing someone. It takes money to stay in motels, and most people won't hire you if you are a complete stranger. Not only that you have to put up deposits to get a place to live so you are easily looking at $1,000 in up front costs to drive somewhere else for a job.

Then you have the old lady or parents who are always ragging on you to pay the bills. Some people are forced into it out of desperation.

Even a liberal should be able to understand that, since liberals are always blaming society, not the individual.

Come on now. Open your mind past Limbaugh and Beck. Liberals have no new organizations in their pockets because all  major news organizations are owned and run by Conservatives. To wit, none of them called the coup that happened in 2000 what it was. None stood up to that same administration on the buildup to war by pointing out that there were no WMD.  None pointed out again in 2004 when there was a systematic plan in Republican led states to make sure that AA voting was quashed ..i.e. precincts in East Cleveland that would have delivered Ohio to Kerry as well as the Presidency.

No, none of them did. So please give me a break on your Beck Speak.

By the way do all Conservatives get their views from a couple of Drug Addicts like Beck and Limbaugh?

I disagree. One person? perhaps not. But why stop at one person? 6 guys to an apartment, all paying, is much easier to manage, and allows for an easier time to save. Mexicans do it all the time. Its how so many of them can afford to send money home. While we may not like their presence, we can learn from them.

Might have something to do with the fact that domiguy's a white dude.

Can't shoot, can't dance.  That kind of guy.

So rule...what do you think? Do you believe there is a majority for or against the law?

I believe the majority of Americans support the Az law despite the demonstrations by those with personal interests.

Hi Tazzy--

6 guys in a small apartment (1 bedroom, for instance or even 2 bedrooms) will usually be evicted or reported to the city/county.  It was common in Santa Barbara/Goleta/Isla Vista for immigrants to pile up in small apartments and man did that piss off the neighbors.  Most of the landlords were absentee and the number of occupants made for several code violations.

What's not so ironic is that the folks who got the most pissed off are the same ones who use gardening services employing the guys living in the apartments.  Or pick up day laborers by the hardware stores.  Love that cheap labor.  Just hate seeing said labor actually living nearby.

According to the survey, nearly eight out of ten Americans have heard about the law. Of those, 51 percent support the measure and 39 percent oppose the law.

If I were to get stopped for a traffic violation in Arizona, I would be asked for identification / drivers license. Why is this law such a problem with liberals ?

We dont have that problem here. Most of these guys work different shifts, so its hard to tell how many live there at any given moment. Resort areas i have lived in also had no problems. Kids piled in at the beginning of summer... left at the end.. paid their deposits.. no one cared.

I personally would not care provided the noise was kept to a minimum and trash didnt pile up. Beyond that, i dont care how many live in an apartment/house.

thornhappy -> RE: Fox News Poll On Az Immigration Law (5/2/2010 9:49:12 AM)

The police require nothing more than suspicion that someone's an illegal immigrant.  So my school buddies from South Central, who look like they're from Mexico (*gasp*) would get carded by any cop who feels like it.  Not because they have a moving violation.

Same with Puerto Ricans.  Probably folks from India/Pakistan, too.  Basically anyone who looks brown.  Howzabout the illegal Eastern Europeans?

If I'm walking down the street minding my own business, I'll be damned if I'd show ID to law enforcement.

It is ironic that AZ is getting so many people crossing the border; they're getting such large numbers because CA cracked down on their sectors and forced the traffic east.

kdsub -> RE: Fox News Poll On Az Immigration Law (5/2/2010 9:51:48 AM)

There is a problem...who can deny it.

There is crime...drugs, smuggling, human slave trade

Illegal is illegal... it would be different if there were not legal ways to get work permits and come to America. There is no reason migrate workers can’t enter this country legally.

There are millions of illegal aliens in this country taking jobs from millions of unemployed citizens….not paying taxes…having children that often drain social services and school districts.

Why should Arizona be required to put with crime for the sake of illegal cheap labor?

How else can we stop illegal aliens except to check for citizenship?

I understand most of these people are just here for a better life but do it legally as my forefathers did when they came to America.

Because there is no legal way to identify who might be an illegal alien. This is another in a long line of laws aimed at harassing the perfectly legal, some have ancestors who were in Arizona since before Arizona was part of the US., brown citizens of the southwest.

How would you feel if a cop could stop you any time any where and demand your ID without you having done anything at all?
