Hello everyone! This is my very first post to the forums here, but I've decided to take the plunge. [sm=hello.gif]

I have been working on a set of rules and punishments for my slave, and even though there is an active thread about cyber punishment right now, I would like to know - what are YOUR favorite real life punishments and why?

Nice first post. I'm sure you'll get good ideas.

I'm going to respond as though you are asking about punishments and not "punishments" as fun things to do.

Honestly I had punishments -- to me they represent the failure of the submissive and my failure to train well or to make my instructions clear.

On those rare moments when I've had to punish, I chose something that is specific to the error or problem and which is specific to that person. I never, ever do anything I enjoy because I do not wish to spoil anything I enjoy with any negativity.

In my opinion the best punishment is
not a physical but a mind punishment. It allows the person to think about it even deeper.

I think my favorite so far has been to suspend them in the archway to my dressroom, facing a large mirror, naked, and walk away. Let them look at themselves and think about who is in charge.

I have to agree.
Just making them feel they let You down can be effective.
Of course there are whippings with the leather strap that get the point across.

I don't like to punish.  For me there is correction and there is punishment.  Correction is given to modify a behavior or reinforce a lesson.  Punishment is meted out to someone who has blatantly defied the rules.  If I have to punish I usually think "why bother?"  meaning release could be imminent.

Therefore, if I find myself in a position of having to punish I usually make sure there is no chance that the person receiving it will ever want it to happen again.  Often it will depend on who is being punished and where their buttons are.  I did once break a crop on someone's back.  However, I have a rather crude quirt that I bought in a tack shop for about 8 bucks that's made of tough latigo with semi sharp edges.  I've never known anyone to repeat the offending behavior after a significant application of that quirt.  Oh yeah, and punishment means no warm up.

But I get no pleasure from it, it's a necessary evil and nothing more.

Thanks everyone for the great advice. I like the idea of "let the punishment fit the crime" and am working on a list to that end. I also have a cheap ping-pong paddle used only for punishment. My thought is to experiment with a combination of physical and mental punishments to find what works best for my slave.

Now I punish but not by hitting my punishment
are made with their minds I will make sure they'
will remember it and not let it happen again
I will take away the greatest thing they want!
Me, I will not let them see or speak to me for a few days!
If they make the mistake again it will be a week!
That is all I need to control them they have never repeated
the problem again!

THis is slightly off, but was mentioned earlier concerning  punishments.I notice that many punishments  involve generally being confined or  restricted in some way. Not all of course . I  believe that sometimes a mirror can be a great way to renforce a punishment. Very rearly does a sub really get to see what they look like when recieving some type of physical punishment.Knowing men are so visual, it just seems natural that an image may be a very strong reminder of what has happen or what they have become...

Perhaps a punishment can be made to fit the crime, ie:
Not being tidy, might result in slave/sub having to do household servitude such as washing, tidying or cleaning, to teach the benefits of tidyness.

A complaining slave might be given a menial task, like cleaning the toilet, or vacuuming the carpet, so he/she learns not to make unnecessary complaints
.
An arrogant or unsubmissive slave might get taught the meaning of submission with a strap on.

Being verbally smart might mean being gagged for a while, to learn the art of appropriate speech.

Being late might mean being tied up, to learn what it's like to wait.

Lacking consideration for females might mean some feminising training.

Orgasm while not permitted, might mean some chastity, time spent on a crotch horse or CBT.

Or Mistress/Master may just do as she/he see's fit!    [;)]
