In my limited experience, how "pussy" whipping feels depends upon the implement used and where it's actually making contact id est the mons, outer labia, etc.

I've had a few things used on me there, but the question was on crops, so I'll answer that. The crop he now uses has a solid leather bit on the end, as opposed to a loop or two separate flaps, in my experience that makes it more painful than most - feels very stingy, more like a very small, concentrated paddle than a crop when used on the bottom, whereas other crops have little effect on me there.

Anyway, when used on clit/labia, I find it creates not so much a sting, but what I would describe as just raw pain - neither thud nor sting nor bite, just.... pain. Perhaps 'burning' might come closest to describing the cumulative effects.
