The best of best wishes to all. This will probably be my last post for at least several days. I leave for the airport in three hours, as kitty and I prepare for our new life in the UK. Would everybody please pray to the goddess Pele on our behalf, as I am worried about that damned Icelandic volcano. You know what they say: ash, and you shall receive.

V,

Do make sure you check in with those reports. They're cancelling flights up North, now - and the cloud may spread far enough south for Heathrow to be seriously affected.

But - here you shall be, no doubt, and very soon.

Wow!

Welcome the hell back! And in just in time for a new parliament. The latest polls have it that it'll be hung. I hope, for you, it's well-hung.

Don't forget my Hershey bar.

Bon voyage!

Dear MistressofGA,

Congratulations on your new "Guide" puppy dog.  Bonding is important and once trained, independence at last.

It is common as I age to seemingly flash through the days of each month.

I am still taking care of a parent full time. Parent is going in for medical procedures this month.  Doesn't give me much time outside and or off premise to go to the BDSM events and or gatherings yet, I have managed in the past.  I usually end up mentoring a new TOP in the arts of using floggers, single tails, canes and all kinds of tools.  (Five toy bags worth... kept in the trunk until needed--my car is a "domme-mobile"--if a van; "dungeon on wheels.")

My slave joey is still dealing with his family's crisis as well as having a health crisis of his own.  His artery had a break and had to be rushed into surgery and recovering.  Because he isn't "out" for many reasons --his vanilla relatives are taking care of him and we already agreed to a protocol where we would worry about each other however, no contact when vanillas around and or involved.  His last message to me was, concerning his health and total situation ... "I have been thrown into the air and I don't know where I am going to land."  Being out with his health--might not be employed when released--maybe he will be.  He is a single Dad on top of it all and his child has made his life "hell."

Today, May 4th, 2010 -- I learned that my younger cousin is in stage 4 lung cancer.  One lung is totally dead and the future is rather dim for her.  She is a recluse so, she hasn't included the family, et.al., in her life--just her fiance`.  However, from what I gather from him, my cousin has been dealing with the cancer since April and the doctors are saying she has 3-6 weeks to live.  We all know that she would smoke in a chain, going through a pack within a few hours.  I think a carton a day--maybe more.  She finally "committed" to her fiance` on March 17th, 2010, after many years of living together.  I suspect this is due to the closeness of death and the need to commit in a more legal and formal way, as to take care of my cousin when she gets worse and after her death, to take care of her affairs.  Unfortunately, there has been a rash of deaths of late--mostly people related to my parent's generation.  My cousin's situation is totally unexpected.

On a happier note -- my domme-mobile (due to the trunk being loaded with toy bags), is still doing well.  I have mentored several new TOPS that seemingly have become serious to learn control over the whips and canes.  Passing the torch is very pleasing and I enjoy teaching new skills to new folks.  (I don't have to correct bad habits).

I have dabbled in researching my neighborhood history and have gone a bit "nuts" as far as purchasing more calligraphy supplies.

Not much is going on otherwise.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted,
Lady Hugs

Lady Hugs,
I am so sorry to hear that your family is going through such a hard time. I will keep you and yours in my prayers.

Venatrix,
I wish you a safe journey! And congrats on starting your new life *Hugs*

Hellos, MoGa, Akasha,  lusciouslips, Stella, and all - I've been steady dedicated to being full time at Evergreen with workstudy and just had time to look at what I'm missing here - you all inspire Me!
Sure we go through raw situations, clear obstacles as a matter of course - and are willing and able to give a piece of our mind to those who need the encouragement as well as help them achieve a more realistic view of this thing/life as we Dominas know it.
I believe we are built that way.   Kudos to you all, the world needs strong Women!

Updating : My Primary is still pretty damn awesome, he more than any  actively encourage My progress - which is definitely why . . .
I've just gotten tickets for a month of study abroad in China for this summer.  NEVER even imagined that!

Now, I'll chat with some useful submissives in that area, perhaps I can do more than classes.
I hope to have at least one 'Riding outfit" tailored, and hmm, do you think I could find a maker of floggers? I've had a concept for a short black snake/tongue mix for a while.

Do any of you Ladies have suggestions for options on what non commercial/political/plastic/touristy activities or goods I might find while I'm there?
Got classes in the morning- have to stay in the dorm.. really want to have more interesting things to do, places to go, any ideas?

Also,  My part time 'cub' is good enough to answer any questions about his journal or anything, just poke him if you have a moment - it would be great to see his response over the time I am out of the country, please?
((jayceecamp Male Submissive, 35,  Oly, Washington))
or hey, please tell Me what you think of this request!

My thanks and the best to you as always,
Zy

I think that it shows your pride for him and your willingness to share his thoughts with us, shows your own security about your dynamic with him. Brava!

And a big YAY! for strong women [:D]

SweetDommes -> RE: May Roll Call (5/6/2010 10:14:00 AM)

Nothing too new here. I just got back from my yearly woman-stuff exam ... and I'm miserable, as usual.

I'm still trying to get my letters of recommendation for my Master's program back from the two people I asked to write them. I also have to write an essay about my philosophy of nursing ... and of course, I can't figure out how to get what I want to say into words that make sense *sigh*

A friend of mine that I met through CM just had open heart surgery on Tuesday - last I heard he was improving as quickly as expected, so that's good, but I'm still worried about him.

Other than that, it's same old, same old. Talking to a few guys, none really stand out.

Hugs for all who need them (or want them ... whatever lol).

Oh this doesn't bode well for when I ask for letters of rec.
Based on two friends who are also still waiting, apparently we are expected to 'remind' them weekly, take them to lunch, send gifts .. sheesh!
I'm applying at Marylhurst OR, next year.   Please tell us how it goes for you, and if any of those suggestions work!

SweetDommes -> RE: May Roll Call (5/6/2010 10:44:14 AM)

Well, one of them recently found out that her mother has cancer ... so I'm not really pushing her. The other ... well ... her, I'm pushing like crazy LOL

littlesarbonn -> RE: May Roll Call (5/7/2010 5:54:07 PM)

May finds me in decent spirits. Nothing going on for me relationship wise, but not really looking for anything either. Started work on a new novel, and aside from work, I've become somewhat of a recluse while trying to hammer this new one out.

SweetDommes -> RE: May Roll Call (5/27/2010 9:49:39 PM)

I had to post this one ...

Holly and rob went out while I was at work and got me a Scottish Fold-mix kitten. She's ADORABLE!! She's not quite tame at this point, but she is currently sleeping on my lap, so there is hope :-)

VaguelyCurious -> RE: May Roll Call (5/28/2010 9:51:51 AM)

There are photos, right? There should definitely be photos. Like, now.

I'll even pull a cute face if it gets me photos (?)

*cute hopeful face*

[:'(]god, I hate doing that, but if it gets me stuff...[:'(]

SweetDommes -> RE: May Roll Call (5/28/2010 12:35:09 PM)

LOL, I'll be getting pictures soon. Right now I'm trying to get the house cleaned up for a couple of my coworkers to come over. One of them is getting the last puppy out of our most recent litter and the other is coming along for the ride because he's currently recuperating from a nasty accident with a drunk driver and wanted out of the house. So I'm trying to make the house presentable lol

VaguelyCurious -> RE: May Roll Call (5/28/2010 12:37:26 PM)

I *suppose* that is an acceptable reason for not providing photos...:P

(Teasing...)
