The Government Official In Charge of Responding to the Oil Spill Was the Official In Charge of Responding to Hurricane Katrina
As the New York Times reports:
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced that she was changing the federal leadership of the oil spill operations. Adm. Thad W. Allen, the commandant of the Coast Guard, is now directly overseeing the work of Rear Adm. Mary E. Landry, who had been in charge of the response. Admiral Allen was in charge of the federal response to Hurricane Katrina./snip
More proof that Obama is Bushes 3rd term

The storm hit on Monday, August 29 right??
Brown was in charge for the first week, then Cherrtoff got rid of Brown and put Allen in charge on On September 9, 2005,
So hardly the bullshit straight after...he actually did a good job after he was put in charge
even tho it was almost certainly a nightmare
maybe experience is what Obama is looking for??

OK so let me get this right?

You are suggesting that the fact that there is an Admiral in the US Coast Guard who was an Admiral while Bush was in office somehow makes Obama Bush's 3rd term?

You do know that Admirals and Generals and other military officers serve under several presidents and they are not all fired and replaced with every president right??????

You do realize that that Admiral and the US Coast Guard and it's helochopter uints were one of the few things that were lauded as successufull operational activities during the whole Katrina response?

And you do realize that the US Coast Guard not the EPA has juriscdiction over the response to oils spills at sea?

Oh Wait I forgot who I was asking these questions of. of course you don't realize any of those fact.

Supplies were blocked from coming in during Katrina.

Archer -> RE: The Government Official In Charge of Responding to the Oil Spill Was the Official In Charge of Respo (5/3/2010 2:01:59 PM)

And???

The admiral didn't block them he dealt with the situation where they were blocked as well as anyone could have. But then again from your armchair with all your emergency management training and understanding I'm quite sure you know more about this than I or that Admiral.

here's my background I finished this program in 1991

pahunkboy -> RE: The Government Official In Charge of Responding to the Oil Spill Was the Official In Charge of Respo (5/3/2010 2:04:32 PM)

So then they rebuilt after Katrina?

Archer -> RE: The Government Official In Charge of Responding to the Oil Spill Was the Official In Charge of Respo (5/3/2010 2:06:51 PM)

What is the problem with this Admiral who took charge AFTER the supplies were staged in the wrong areas and then worked as best he could to make it right.

Come on punky you can do it muster up a cogent thought and tell me what specifically this admiral did that you found so distressing?

On September 5, 2005, while serving as Coast Guard Chief of Staff, Allen was appointed deputy to Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael D. Brown by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, and placed in charge of Hurricane Katrina search-and-rescue and recovery efforts. Former colleagues interviewed after the announcement praised Allen as well-suited to the task.

On September 9, 2005, Allen was given full command of the Bush administration's Hurricane Katrina onsite relief efforts. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff elevated Allen following the removal of Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael D. Brown from that position. Allen announced on January 25 that he would be relieved of this responsibility on January 27, 2006.

So the idea that the guy who they turned to to fix the Brown fuck up and who took that mess over and cleaned it up, that guy whpo's current job is the Head muther fucker in charge of the entire US Coast Guard, the agency who is tasked with oil spill response in all US coastal and navigable waters according to all environmental response plans anyway. He shouldn't be in charge of this oil spill because???? come on give me any plausable reason pahunkboy.

308,000,000,000 in this country- and we hire the same dude that wrecked it before.

out of 308 mil.

Archer -> RE: The Government Official In Charge of Responding to the Oil Spill Was the Official In Charge of Respo (5/3/2010 2:35:21 PM)

Again he didn't wreck it. how many timelines do you need to see before that brain of yours begins to comprehend He inherited a pile of crap from Brown and he made due with what he was handed and made it better.

But lets not let logic and facts get in the way of a good parroting session for a 78945789797815798 rate mind like alex jones

Archer -> RE: The Government Official In Charge of Responding to the Oil Spill Was the Official In Charge of Respo (5/3/2010 2:43:28 PM)

Two weeks after the Katrina One Week after he gets the first assignment this guy gets handed the pile of shit that Brown and others made of it and told OK it's all yours.

Why because his area of responsibility during the event was about the only area that wasn't fucked up, the Search and Rescue efforts that were his from Sept 5 - September 9 ran pretty smoothly and were commended by most. It was the rest of the response all those areas that were not Admiral Allens that were screwed up during those first two weeks.
