Monday, May 3, 2010 Imagine the uproar if 200 Tea Party members had gone on a rampage through a downtown city, smashing windows, starting fires, and spraying graffiti everywhere, the corporate media would be all over it, and yet gangs of pro-illegal immigration demonstrators do this and much worse on a regular basis, with no national news coverage whatsoever.

“A large group of protesters demonstrating at a May Day rally for worker’s and immigrant rights downtown broke off into a riot vandalizing about a dozen businesses around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, police said,” reports The Santa Cruz Sentinel. An Associated Press report states that eighteen businesses were damaged as pro-immigrants rights activists engaged in violent riots, spraying graffiti, smashing windows, setting fire to shop fronts, and causing damage to a cost of up to $100,000 dollars.

“The damage that was caused was without purpose,” Capt. Steve Clark said. “It was senseless violence that victimized a community who cannot afford to be victimized in this manner.

This did nothing to add credit to whatever they believed their cause was.”

The riot followed the announcement that pro-amnesty demonstrators would march across the country on May 1st, which is also a date on which socialists rally worldwide to celebrate Communism, euphemistically labeled “International Workers Day” by the media. In addition, during a pro-amnesty rally in San Francisco, 40 Golden Gate Minutemen, who were staging a peaceful counter-protest, were chased, beaten and injured by the pro-immigration thugs./snip

Interesting idea to protest immigrant rights. To my knowledge, immigrants have the same rights with citizens, except green card holders can not vote or serve jury duty. Illegal immigrants should be more appropriately called intruders. US government officials seem to prefer "undocumented workers" despite most have documents.

PaHunk, I just got a campaign letter from "Pat Toomey for Senate" in the mail today.
I wonder if Arlen Specter will be making any speeches "supporting illegal aliens" on the campaign trail in the next few months?
I just think that if any congressman or senator is running for office or a private citizen who's running for office that they should "come out" and let the voters know if they "support" any type of "amnesty" or anything else for illegal aliens.
I mean wouldn't they want to *share* that with the Voters???

It sure is confusing, the US media. One minute theyre all liberal (socialists, whatever that means) and the next theyre agents of corporatism.

And the nature of demonstration and protest is sure confusing too. It seems to depend on who it is that's demonstrating as to whether such things may lawfully escalate into civil disobedience, threats and violence, destruction of property and so on, when the protest doesnt get the desired response.

It must be down to the Jews.

Lady E, it IS confusing with the "Main Stream Media" in this country. They can't get themselves to use the word "Terrorist" anymore unless the story is about a bunch of hicks from Michigan.
Even al qeada in Afganistan and Iraq are called "Insurgants."
That's one of the reasons why the N.Y. Times is dying a slow death.
