My usual response is "you say that like it's a bad thing" as a pat answer and then I forget about it. You're right, it's a subjective thing and for me it's also about context.

I don't like the term because it infers that someone is behaving very negatively. Joan Collins' character on Dynasty was supposedly the breakthrough for bitches. Suddenly it was trendy and cool to be a bitch. Her character was awful-vindictive, vengeful, immoral, unethical, and she kept duking it out with Linda Evans' character. Usually, people who are being "bitchy" (and that's men as well as women) are getting their way by being nasty to people. I prefer to catch my flies with honey instead of vinegar, there are far better ways to get people to cooperate with you or do your bidding, than by being nasty about it. Phoenix

My response whenever anyone has called me a bitch has been "yeah, and?" lol ... usually because of one of the reasons in the post above s Being a bitch does not have to mean being negative or mean ... BitchCat was a nickname I was given within a trio of friends. A moetley krue (Black, White and Asian), we used the names to even further separate ourselves from others and bond, because when we called each other these derogatory names people were shocked, curious and maybe offended. Then again, you'd think that if you called someone a bitch and both you and the person laughed, it's not an issue, but... I know whether or not someone is calling me a bitch in a way I like/find amusing or don't like/offends me. It's complicated, but it's also important to me as a woman, a dominant person and someone who doesn't tolerate disrespect. At the moment, I'd rather call my sub "bitch" while he must use a more traditional term of respect.

Suba I do not like the word, I came from a home where my father first words to my mother was bitch!!!! No do i see myself as a bitch others may like the term I do not maybe if I had not heard it in such a bad way I might see it as a nice way to address a domme. But it is not for me. I would not even think of letting anyone call me a bitch they would meet the floor lol :) but i do like how many of the domme did answer why it was okay for them greeting to all mons/jane
