I don't like the word "bitch" and have no desire to be connected to it.  When I dominate, I do so with class and control.  I have no need to be bitchy and domineering.

Be well,
Julie

No dont like to be called Bitch.
I much prefer "Queen of the freaking universe."
I am dominant and demanding and in control.
Just something about the way Grandma brought me up.

(p.s. Love those t-shirts for women with the word "BITCH" on the front. I love being in a public place when a women wears it.)

This is too funny.  I have tons of tshirts with sayings on them.  I never buy them for myself, they are always gifts.  I have one that says "remember my name, you'll be screaming it later" another that says "She who must be obeyed;" and a recent acquisition - My father was flee marketing with a friend who is a priest.  He purchased a tee for me that says "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful, hate me because I'm a bitch!"  His friend said "don't you think that will offend her?" and my dad said "you don't know my daughter!" hahaha

Bitch is not, to my mind, my default.  It's true, however, that there are those that consider some of my ideas and attitudes as "bitchy."  I don't happen to agree.  Although I am quite comfortable using that facet of my persona if I think the occasion warrants it.  It's not my default, though.

If someone who was trying to earn a place in service to me called me a bitch I'd take exception.  I have friends who call me bitch and there is no doubt that it's a term of endearment.  My usual response is "you say that like it's a bad thing" as a pat answer and then I forget about it.

You're right, it's a subjective thing and for me it's also about context.

BITCHOLOGY   When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, I am labeled “bitch”. When I stand up for those I love, I am labeled “bitch”. When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts or do things my own way, I am labeled “bitch”. When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak against it, I am labeled “bitch”. When I take time for myself instead of being everyone's maid, I am labeled “bitch”.   Therefore, being a bitch must mean: I won't compromise what's in my heart. I live my life MY way. I won't allow anyone to step on me. I am outspoken, opinionated and determined. I want what I want and I strive for it! I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won't become anyone else's idea of what they think I should be.   So you can try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me. You won't succeed. And if that makes me a bitch, so be it. I embrace the title and am proud to bear it.   I am a bitch!   Author unknown

Sometimes a single word can be fascinating.

Do Dominant Women like to be called a "bitch"? Do you enjoy having others think of you as a "bitch"?

I think it depends on when and who is saying it.

If you're emailing me to consider you as a submissive and you immediately call me a bitch.. well its not going to endear yourself to me.

If I'm torturing you, and you're trying really hard not to call me a bitch and it slips out.. Oh yeah I like that.

Calling me "my bitch" isn't going to go over well.  However saying "OMG you're such a bitch, I love it" will go over well.

I've been called "bitch" by nearly everyone at one time or another and I've adopted it as my middle name.  It doesn't really phase me if others call me that, as its usually just a statement of the obvious.  But its not really a term of endearment unless you've had the experences with me to back it up, aka we're close friends.

Exactly!  I like this.  Now apply these same traits to a male and what is he called?  I am sure it is not an S.O.B.

MysticalPhoenix -> RE: Do You like thinking of Yourselves as a "Bitch" (4/7/2006 4:39:10 AM)

I don't like the term because it infers that someone is behaving very negatively.

Joan Collins' character on Dynasty was supposedly the breakthrough for bitches.  Suddenly it was trendy and cool to be a bitch.  Her character was awful-vindictive, vengeful, immoral, unethical, and she kept duking it out with Linda Evans' character.

Usually, people who are being "bitchy" (and that's men as well as women) are getting their way by being nasty to people.  I prefer to catch my flies with honey instead of vinegar, there are far better ways to get people to cooperate with you or do your bidding, than by being nasty about it.

This is an aside to your question as I am not a Domme but a male sub, but one of my favorite phrases out of my Mistress's mouth is, "Come here, bitch."  I love that!

I don't enjoy being referred to as a Bitch, and I don't dislike it, either.  When someone spitefully refers to Me as 'that Bitch' it usually makes Me laugh.

I use the word bitch when I refer to My sub. Probably because he IS a whiny little bitch, and a slutty little bitch, and he's My bitch.

I rarely address him as 'bitch', but I often think of him as 'little bitch' as an unspoken nickname.

...oh, and bitch boy.

I called him down on the phone today for being a petulant ass, and the term of endearment 'bitch boy' kept running through My head...lololol

This is beautiful!  Thank you!  Personally, I've adopted Jett's song "Cold Hard Bitch" as my own personal theme song lol.  My response whenever anyone has called me a bitch has been "yeah, and?" lol ... usually because of one of the reasons in the post above *s*  Being a bitch does not have to mean being negative or mean ... I'm actually a realistic/positive person who has always believed in manners as well as the old idiom that you can attract more flies with honey than vinegar ... however, mess with me or mine & bitch will be the NICEST thing you could call me! BitchCat -> RE: Do You like thinking of Yourselves as a "Bitch" (4/8/2006 8:39:32 PM)

BitchCat was a nickname I was given within a trio of friends. A moetley krue (Black, White and Asian), we used the names to even further separate ourselves from others and bond, because when we called each other these derogatory names people were shocked, curious and maybe offended. Then again, you'd think that if you called someone a bitch and both you and the person laughed, it's not an issue, but...

I know whether or not someone is calling me a bitch in a way I like/find amusing or don't like/offends me. It's complicated, but it's also important to me as a woman, a dominant person and someone who doesn't tolerate disrespect. At the moment, I'd rather call my sub "bitch" while he must use a more traditional term of respect.

bitchboots -> RE: Do You like thinking of Yourselves as a "Bitch" (4/8/2006 11:18:28 PM)

No problem what so ever, quite happy to know when I have been called a bitch...
I've done something right with a subbie under my boot or control.
Vanilla terms, I've got what I wanted, regardless of what you may think of me & I don't care.  My  T'shirt reads "Hello My name is Bitch".  Babe In Total Control of Herself......Beautiful Intellegent Talented Cunning Horny.....
Way to go! [;)]

like the term I do not maybe if I had not heard it
in such a bad way I might see it as a nice way to
