MrMister -> Video of an Apache strike in 2007 (5/6/2010 7:58:56 AM)

I saw another thread here in regards to someone in the military addressing questions here on CM while they are on R&R, but I didn't feel it to be appropriate to post there and hijack the thread.

Please pardon if this has already been posted.  I did a few searches and didn't see it, but I may have missed it.  I'll admit that I'm a little upset after watching it.

Video is of an Apache strike in New Baghdad, killing some cameramen and a couple of kids.  It is very graphic.  And the coolness of the solders was very enlightening to me.  I guess in a war people become not people anymore.  If you think your military is always right, you might not want to watch this.  It will pop your bubble.

Some think they see an RPG in the video, some say it is clearly a special camera lens.  What do all of you think?  I was not sure until I saw them shooting on the van trying to help a wounded person, and running over a body with the tank and laughing about it.

Edited to add:
I'm not 100% on the rules of engagement, but it seems to me that:
1. 30mm guns are not for engaging people
2. the people in the vans, unarmed, picking up wounded, are noncombatants, and therefore off limits

Any clarity from other military/ ex-military?

I think that herfacechair's post here...

Thanks Sanity, my apologies for [sm=beatdeadhorse.gif] not completely reading through the entire thread there. Just read the first page and the last couple.
