givethedogabone -> New to all this (5/6/2010 12:06:51 PM)

Hello,

I am very new to all of this but, as it has been a curiosity of mine for some time I wanted to know how I went about it?

At present I don't have a picture on my profile. Due to my work I don't want to put a face pic up but realise that sooner or later I need to put at least something up. Currently trying to lose a bit of weight. Have already shifted 1.5 st but looking for at least that again.

How do I approach someone on here? I am quite shy but really enthusiastic...does that make sense?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Just hang around. You'll catch on.

Don't worry about finding someone...they'll find you. [:)] I no time at all your mailbox will be flooded as though there were a neon sign flashing "Fresh Meat".

Worry more about seperating the idiots and scammers from the good ones, take you're time and make smart choices.

seems to be good advice on weeding out the losers and wannabe's

Welcome...

Approaching someone on here is easy and shouldn't be impinged by your shyness.  Just send a mail.  Read their profile and see what they are looking for and send a mail accordingly.  Give some details about yourself, but don't give your life history, short sweet and perhaps some humour.

You might get a response, you might not.  It all depends on the if the person you contracted is interested in you.

Remember first impressions count. So be sure to proof-read and spellcheck your mail.

Good luck!  About 95% of the people on this site are phonies, liars, and bs'ers, and the other 5% don't answer their mail.

Daddysredhead -> RE: New to all this (5/9/2010 9:00:27 PM)

Welcome, "Give."

Lots of great people on this site.  Don't listen to the nay-sayers.  I have met over 60-70 of the alleged fakes, wannabe's, and phonies in person, and have about 25 of them coming to spend by birthday party weekend with me in less than a week.  If these people are fake, flying in from across the country, the eastern seaboard, etc., then I want more of them in my life!  [:)]

[sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif]I'll have to let all the r/l friends I've made on this site know that they are phonies, liars, and fakes. That should go over pretty well. [:D]

GreedyTop -> RE: New to all this (5/9/2010 9:39:10 PM)

welcome, Give!!

And yes, I admit it..I am a complete fake/phony/etc.

Just ask Red, and Wyld...or quite a few others :)
Best advice I can offer is to treat finding someone here the same as you would a vanilla partner, and trust your gut!

If I can take my pick, I'll opt for "liar".  So I can still be weal and twue.

Yep...  Greedy is a total fraud.  So much so, that I did NOT go see her in FL last year.  I also did NOT have her come visit me and my family last May.  And I also do NOT talk to her on the phone several times a week.  To make it even more legit, I do NOT send her various things in the mail such as Christmas cards, etc.  Oh, and if my kids ever say they know her...  they're lying, too.   [;)]

Signed,

I just say up front I'm not real, so I'm not lying. Besides, how can anybodywho isn't real lie? Doesn't it take an actual person to lie? After all, they need to have something to lie about, like being real.

And I only ignore stupid email, the rest I answer if one is called for, even if it's to say no thanks, not interested.

The 5% are probably the smart ones that have read your post here and ran the hell away....

OP: welcome to the boards!

<---- 100% genuine fakery at it's finest.

just take your time and be carefull what you are doing... there are a lot of scammers out there but you'll soon learn to recognise them and avoid them.  Anything worth having takes time so just be patient.

DMFParadox -> RE: New to all this (5/11/2010 12:44:47 AM)

If it makes you feel more comfortable, use a neutral non-identifying pic as your first and some personal ones in the other slots. It's what I do; I need to be careful about Google searches too.

Hello,

The first thing you do is send an email to someone that looks interesting or respond to an email (as I'm sure you have gotten plenty by now) from someone that looks interesting. Exchange a few emails to see if you are both looking for the same things and then move on to chatting with them. From there you can decide if you want to meet them.

But be careful and don't give out too much personal information until you feel comfortable doing so. If somebody immedietly wants your phone number, address, etc. that should raise a red flag in your mind.
