Lieberman, Brown Unveil Bill to Strip Citizenship
By Jean Spencer
A bipartisan, bicameral group of lawmakers introduced legislation today aimed at stripping U.S. citizenship from Americans who have supported foreign terrorist groups or engaged in hostilities against the U.S. or its allies. [image]http://online.wsj.com/media/Lieberman_Citizenship_D_20100506184612.jpg[/image]Sens. Joe Lieberman (I., Conn.) and Scott Brown (R., Mass.) along with Pennsylvania Reps. Jason Altmire, a Democrat, and Charlie Dent, a Republican, co-sponsored the legislation, which would add to seven ways, including treason, that American can to lose their citizenship under current law. If the legislation is enacted, those found by the Secretary of State to be engaged in “providing material support or resources to a Foreign Terrorist Organization” or “actively engaging” in “hostilities against the United States or its allies,” would stand to lose their citizenship.http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2010/05/06/lieberman-brown-unveil-bill-to-strip-citizenship/

Sounds like the Republicans are trying to do away with the constitution.

I guess I don't really understand. So they would then be.... un-citizens? I mean... don't people have to sort of be counted ~somewhere~?

Don't people convicted of felonies lose many of the rights associated with citizenship?

This seems like grandstanding, with no real benefit.

Real0ne -> RE: Lieberman, Brown Unveil Bill to Strip Citizenship (5/6/2010 9:04:53 PM)

they would have to be sovereign nationals :)

love it!

the only reason people are counted are for taxation.  The feds dole out money to the states based on numbers of people.

no you start out as a sovereign, ma gets you a birth certificate and they take legal title to your name which means they control you by having jurisdiction over you.  Hence you lose rights the second you become a citizen, then you lose more rights when you become a us citizen.  Its all done through implied and constructive contracts, trusts etc.  :)

it is that birth cert is traded on the market and making money thats why they want those borders open lol

How do you figure that? Or do you just let all facts and realities blow away so you can vent your hate? Do the words "bipartisan" and "bicameral" mean anything to you? Where exactly was the disconnect between ctrl-v and your idiotic comment?

Uh, no.  They would then become stateless unless they had dual citizenship prior.

I don't get it.  If convicted of treason, they'd be facing a prison term.  The citizenship is irrelevant to them serving jail time.  Once released, they would then be forced to leave the country for... where?

TheHeretic -> RE: Lieberman, Brown Unveil Bill to Strip Citizenship (5/6/2010 10:26:52 PM)

As for the proposed law itself, I'd say we just go with the death penalty instead.

thishereboi -> RE: Lieberman, Brown Unveil Bill to Strip Citizenship (5/7/2010 8:24:10 AM)

According to your link, it was an independent, 2 republicans and a democrat.

But if it helps you sleep better at night to blame it all on the republicans, go right ahead.

Nothing "new" here, we've been stripping former Nazis of their U.S. Citizenship and deporting them for fifty years.

Oops, I just commented when I saw your comment RO, without reading DarkStevens.  But DS I don't get it either.  I have to listen more to what they're saying.  Thinking of it though in a stretch....alot of craziness can come out of this.

All of them? We only went after those that were war criminals. If you were just an average Nazi you now are enjoying your last few years of Social Security Benefits.

domiguy -> RE: Lieberman, Brown Unveil Bill to Strip Citizenship (5/7/2010 9:46:53 AM)

What about the part about our "allies?" Who exactly are our allies?

Haven't we a as country been "providing material support or resources to a Foreign Terrorist Organization” that have hostilities against the United States or its allies?

Is Lieberman mentally ill? We deserve to know.

There is such a sore misunderstanding of the design of this country and the ignorance is perpetrated by those who have everything to gain from that ignorance.

Court cases are carefull worded so that unless someone has actually been there done that they will take kens position for instance.

what is a state?  A state is a body politic.  How does that body politic manifest itself such that it can exercize power?  as a corporation.

always distinctions that most people never heard of or even dreamed existed.

What makes you a citizen?  The constitution?  Hell no!

Its starts with registration, a birth certificate bond.  That is the initial registration into the state.

So you have a club that says if you register with our corporation club you can be a citizen of our club and enjoy the privileges of our club as long as you are a good boy and follow all the club rules.

See a requirement for a constitution in there?  I dont.  How do they get around it?  Just showed you.  Not entirely, but you void the constitution because the one right they make sure you have is the infinite right to contract.  You can contract into slavery today as you could any other day in history just by different names thats all.

Proof is when the cop picks you up and tells you that you may waive your rights if you want too...

What does that mean?  If you agree to the contract to waive your rights then they are waived.  If you argree to register and be part of the corporation club and accept their rules then you have to abide by the contract!!!!!!  14th....

That said if you are born here, and you are not registered or "unenfranchised" you are a sovereign national.

Does that make you any less an "American" in the real government?  Hardly.  You are the tru government.  The corporation are the posers.  Now that will be an unsurmountable tough pill to swallow for some and I admit it takes a good deal of research to prove that to ones self but that nonetheless is where the bears shits in the buckwheat.

well I think I laid it out pretty well though.

Louve00 -> RE: Lieberman, Brown Unveil Bill to Strip Citizenship (5/8/2010 3:28:59 PM)

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of craziness where people started trumping up every assinine reason to take away someone's citizenship. From the party they want to belong to...to the comentators that like to embrace the extreme like Limbaugh and Beck. I can see this leading to a limited right to free speech for fear of being associated with a force against us. We are quite capable of using a law to twist it to accomplish something entirely unrelated and dastardly.

Real0ne -> RE: Lieberman, Brown Unveil Bill to Strip Citizenship (5/8/2010 3:35:10 PM)

I will share a tiny secret with you that will really blow peoples minds.

They do not have the authority to even bring you into one of their courts because their courts are foreign.

We have snatched several people out of their clutches already, and suits have been served on the UNITED STATES INC, not the government as well.

should get really interesting over the next couple years :)
