For those of you living in or around Nashville or who know folks there,
the music will continue and the locals are making good strides with fundraising efforts.

The United Way, the Red Cross, Kroger and State Farm Insurance are all contributing. Click on the second link below for more information on donating.

In case you are interested:

In this video, yes, that really is downtown Nashville - i haven't seen all or even most the damagage but i saw this devastation downtown with my own eyes as i work near Broadway, yes that really is the football stadium, Hendersonville is the town i live in, the Bass Proshop i believe is the Opry Mills mall, the place where you see like tropical trees and such that is Opryland Hotel, and yep, that really is the Grand Ole Opry, that portable building really was floating down the expressway or as folks down here call it -- the interstate. This video is pretty much only PARTS of the Nashville area, the whole of middle TN got slammed.

People here are in desperate need of cleaning supplies, buckets, mops, shop vacs, towels, volunteers to help, bleach, food, water, box fans, generators, diapers, formula, they need specialists to inspect homes, foundations, etc etc etc. Soo many people have lost everything, even their homes are now condemned.

People will need all the help they can get.

So many people have no flood insurance and many live in low income areas. Tent City which is a huge homeless area/campsite was destroyed over 140 people with nowhere to go.

So Nashville is flooded -- how can i help

If you know of specific areas -- you can pretty much do a search for the cities home page that will also have how people can help and where to do. Please also be aware that many many many businesses will need help many of which are small businesses.

Thanks for anyone who is thinking of these people down here, just helping the few people i have over the last couple days is so emotionally heartbreaking as they try and sort through and pick up their lives.

We have made incredible strides in fund raising, actually. I am very proud to be a Nashvillian right now, the outpouring of charity and support is incredible. The district office I work for cancelled a major management meeting and every one of the managers went out to the condo community where several of the Walgreens staff members lived. They spent the day pulling up carpet, hacking out damaged drywall and helping with cleanup. The theory was they cant afford to do it all themselves, so Walgreens was supporting them and helping where it can.

Thank you, anyone and everyone who helps.... donations, prayers and good vibes are all equally necessary!
