the breed is actually BurMese Mountain Dog, not BurNese.

Sorry, but no.  Burnese, with an "N," is correct.

Sorry, but yes.

Pug - Every time I see one of these I want to punt it.  What does that make me?????  lol.... And to settle the debate...  there is the Burmese Mountain Dog, from Burma, and the Bernese Mountain Dog, from Switzerland.  The Swiss ones carry the rum around to skiers under avalanches. Yours,  benji

Yeah, I just did a little research and found both.  I had personally known a breeder of the BurMese, but had never heard of the BerNese.  I checked the American Kennel Club and found that they only have the Bernese listed as a recognized breed....wondering if that is an oversight on their part?  I sent them an email, it'll be interesting to see what they say.

I guess we're both right

I'm A Yorkie...

No bones about it, you're a social, bustling Yorkshire Terrier. Active and enthusiastic, Yorkies like you have a ton of energy — which means you're probably always running around like a mad dog. You're never without a project to work on, an errand to run, or a party to catch. (Where do you find the time?) You're a chatty little pup, too — talking is one of your favorite pastimes. That's why all your friends and acquaintances see you as their own personal Entertainment Tonight and rely on you for the latest gossip and social bulletins. You always liven up a dinner party or cocktail gathering, and people simply adore your affectionate nature and get-up-and-go eagerness. Woof!

You forgot the Bernaise Mountan Dog also. It loves to run. They can be thick or thin and apparently they taste good too.

It's a joke! Sheesh.

Yeah... I got through 18 questions, it asked for an email address and I closed it without filling it out. I guess I will never know what kind of dog I am.

There is no Burmese mountain dog.

From Websters Universal Encyclopedic Dictionary: 2005 edition, page 167, 4th entry

Bernese mountain dog: noun (Bern, Switzerland) (1935) any of a breed of large powerful long-coated black dogs of Swiss origin that have tan and white markings and were developed as draft animals

I found a similar entry in my Oxford dictionary and my American Heritage. No entry for Burmese anything.

Burmese Mountain DogsBurmese Mountain Dog: A page (also from the creators of the Mankato, Minnesota page) with some info about a rare breed of dog known as the Burmese Mountain Dog. You can examine this a long time and potentially not realize the joke, which is that the actual breed is the Bernese Mountain Dog (it comes from Berne, Switzerland). I guess a lot of people say Burmese instead of Bernese.

I'd never heard of a BurMese, and it's not recognized by the AKC, apparently.  I've only known of the BurNese (also spelled Bernese, so I'm not certain which is actually correct), because I've wanted one for years.  The Burnese are beautiful dogs.

Ewww I do dislike these little dogs ironic they matched me to one. Now I can tell my daughter who wants one we already have a chihauahua  lol Me

you're a Chihuahua!

No bones about it, you're an energetic, devoted Chihuahua. For your breed, size definitely doesn't matter. After all, sometimes the best things (diamonds, car keys, Godiva truffles) come in small packages. Honest and straightforward, you're never afraid to speak up for what you believe in, especially if it's a cause near and dear to your heart. Having such a passionate personality can come with a few drawbacks, though. You can be moody at times, and people often find it hard to live up to your high standards. But once you make a friend, it's for life. Saucy and intense, your energy and unfailing loyalty make you a great companion. Woof!

Bernese Mountain DogNo bones about it, you're a good-hearted, people-loving Bernese Mountain Dog. Down-to-earth and loyal, no one works or plays harder than you do. You put your nose to the grindstone when it really counts, but you never neglect your social calendar. Simultaneously strong and sweet, you're very tuned-in to the feelings and needs of the other dogs you run with. Without having to be asked, you always have a helping paw to lend and a sympathetic shoulder to lean on. "Communication" is your middle name, and when that's paired with your unswerving devotion, you get a breed that everyone respects and trusts. Woof!

No bones about it, you're a loyal, nurturing Collie. A sensitive breed, you're always approachable and very in tune with others' feelings — just like Lassie! Because of your empathetic nature, you tend to be the group psychologist to your circle of friends. Your faithful, easygoing, steadfast personality makes you a wonderful confidant; people love to come to you with their troubles. Bottom line? You're a star at interpersonal relationships and have a knack for making new friends and acquaintances wherever you go. After all, what's a Collie without a flock to look after? Since you're so giving, your buddies might not realize that you need them just as much as they need you, so make sure not to neglect yours truly. Everyone deserves some "me" time. Woof!
