I wear a hat and sometimes a hood, because I am sensitive to bright light, it hurts my eyes, so I guard against it. Similarly, I am sensitive to sound, loud noises I cannot abide and have similar problems with touch, feeling and sensation awareness, I am not ticklish and pain I generally ignore unless it is prolonged. I am told my sensitivity and lack of sensitivity is common with dyspraxia, for what affects the majority is quite different with me and others who are similar.

I find what it is that I do within the realms of BDSM allows me to feel, where I cannot normally.

But in this so called enlightened society where so many social and communicational problems have been identified, these differences should be understood and catered for with those that police society, for there is no point learning and defining to ease a persons suffering, if the authorities are going to still adhere to caveman policies when it comes to dealing with people.

I respond well when I am treated with politeness, a person is polite, they get my ultimate response, I submit, but as soon as I perceive aggression or insulting behaviour, the rebel bastard in me comes out and I revert to whatever suits my purpose to deter a situation. More often than not, with me, that is logic, I question my aggressor, they reply with logic, I can deal with that and they may win my submission, but if logic fails in them, I will push more, but from experience those that cannot deal with logic often resort to violence, and violence where it is not necessary, they in fact make themselves if they are in a position of authority, the offender.

I do understand there are people in this world that seek the badge of authority, because they are either a little person with a poor ego, or they genuinely seek to right the wrongs by order of their office, I have no problem with the latter, but the former, these people where identified should never be given autocracy over others, for they themselves suffer mental issues and are direly in need of phsyciatric help.

Where may you find these people, security, management, politics, in fact I do have my suspicions about anyone who actively seeks a position where by their office they rule others, for they seek dominance by order, not natural dominance a person exudes by being a decent person and a help to others.

I understand reading elsewhere the prisons are full of people with dyspraxia, autistic spectrum disorders and other recognised mental illnesses, in fact, 65% of the UK prison population are dyspraxic people, now just does that say something about our society, we identify vulnerable people, but that is as far as it goes, for our antiquated judicial system does not recognise that some people are what they are because of no fault of their own and perception of situation is very different in these people. Some people like me believe the law is as defined, but fall foul of the many and varied interpretations that can be extracted from that law, thus indicating that law is not defined but open to the interpretation of the prosecutor.

I appear innocuous to all who encounter me. I have that middle aged white female thing going for me, no one ever questions my right to be anywhere, which generally pisses me off to be honest. Here I am, trying to challenge the man, and he never even notices because I am the "default" color with the "default" cultural settings....

I am probably more challenging to the system than most that get hassled. I am making a career of it for crying out loud

As I said before, people can be stupid and people aren't always aware of difficulties associated with learning disabilities or other aspects of mental health.  It's not any worse than it has ever been but there is an unrealistic expectation that things should be better these days.  Society isn't any more enlightened than it was before.

My son has dyspraxia, that doesn't make him a target however, any more than it makes you one.

And for some reason they think this makes them "invisable."
No they don't. They think it obscures their faces, making it harder for passers-by or security cameras to identify them (which it does).

The more uniform-like the clothes, the harder it is to distinguish one hood from another-they don't care if you can *see* them, they care if you can *identify* them later.

Relax and enjoy the attention.

Some people don't want attention, they just wish to get on with their lives without any hassle.
