AquaticSub -> Getting cat pee out of a suitcase (5/12/2010 7:56:17 AM)

So.... while packing up for Red's party this weekend, I noticed that one of our fuzzy babies decided to protest the state of their litterbox. By peeing on my suitcase. [:'(]

Everything that was already in there is easy to wash, already got that handled thank goodness but I can't seem to get rid of the smell on the suitcase itself. It's not an emergancy since we have another that I can use. I just prefer mine and, if I can't get the smell out, I've got an expensive catbox on my hands.

Any suggestions?

I've haven't tried this, but Vinegar is suppose to work.

If a child has an “accident” on a mattress, clean it with a solution of vinegar and water. Afterwards, pour some baking soda onto the mattress, and brush or vacuum the residue once it’s dry.

Try Nature's Miracle! You can find it most pet stores. Good luck

White vinegar or detergent with a dash of baking soda.

Wash down with one part vinegar and one part water.  Afterwards, place a few charcoal pieces and let it sit overnight zipped up.

that is the reason why charcoal is used to cover smelly shoes...

I would get a new suitcase, honestly. Even if WE can't smell it, the catz can... and where they pee once THEY WILL PEE AGAIN! This I know of catz. [:'(]

Well I have bought some nature's miracle and I'm about to use it. Everybody cross their fingers for me! [:)]

windchymes -> RE: Getting cat pee out of a suitcase (5/12/2010 3:14:48 PM)

Ditto the Nature's Miracle.  It's a little bit pricey, but truly a miracle.  It has enzymes that break down the ammonia into another compound, actually changes it's chemical composition so it CAN'T smell like ammonia because it ISN'T ammonia anymore!  It's a great product and worth every cent.

And that concludes today's science lesson, boys and girls.  Quiz on Friday.

Douse it in gasoline.  Then light a match.
