So this girl is looking through my record (yes, LPs) collection and asks... "is Woodstock a good band?"

I really don't have a favorite of all time but one of my top five is "The Joshua Tree" by U2. There are a lot of really good songs on that CD!

Level -> RE: For people who love music and is addicted (5/13/2010 2:54:32 AM)

Well, I is addicted to music.... hmm.

Vol. 4, by Black Sabbath.

tigreetsa -> RE: For people who love music and is addicted (5/13/2010 8:35:06 AM)

In terms of cultural impact I would also suggest 'Highway 61 Revisited' by Bob Dylan from the 1960's.

I also feel that Bob Marley deserves a mention for bringing reggae music to a wider audience with albums such as 'Exodus' and his posthumous collection 'Legend'.

VaguelyCurious -> RE: For people who love music and is addicted (5/13/2010 9:10:53 AM)

Original Pirate Material by The Streets

Because much as I was brought up to be eclectic and to love all music, I am a child of the two-step generation and UK garage will always be my secret favourite.

It probably won't be remembered forever, but it will always make me smile.

If you know me, you know that age normally has no effect on me... literally no effect. Neither cougars or young cubs hold any special allure just because of their age. Everhope lives with me and she is 53. Before she moved in my girlfriend pauline was 18. Julie my ex who lives nextdoor is 68... However, when that girl asked about Mountain, King Crimson and Woodstock, it sorta' gave me a perverted thrill because I actually felt like I was going out with a younger girl. Does that make sense?

sirsholly -> RE: For people who love music and is addicted (5/15/2010 4:59:57 AM)

Desperado by the Eagles

slaveluci -> RE: For people who love music and is addicted (5/15/2010 5:58:49 AM)

"Honky Tonk Heroes" would be right up at the top.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honky_Tonk_Heroes

Why should it be remembered? Only for some of the simplest, best, purest song-writing ever (nearly all by Billy Joe Shaver) and the convergence of many great talents performing on it.........luci
