BoiJen -> Collarme spying on users? (5/13/2010 11:30:36 AM)

I got an email from a Mod on my personal email. Not on the Collarme system...and it wasn't even the email I used to sign up with on Collarme.

WTF?!

Not that I'm worried about my privacy...but what about other people's?

mnottertail -> RE: Collarme spying on users? (5/13/2010 11:33:19 AM)

it would have to be the one you signed up with or is on your profile (or one of them).  I did 20 plus years as a programmer computer geek, and unless you know that mod as someone else here (hey? is that possible, maybe you are being punked) they would have no way of sniffing it out.

BoiJen -> RE: Collarme spying on users? (5/13/2010 11:36:20 AM)

Nope, they sent it to a different email address. I checked to make sure. This means Collarme is either back tracking in their system and hacking personal computers or the mod is using other systems or sites to get personal information on people. Either way...I really gotta ask...am I gonna have to worry about doing my online banking on my home PC?

mnottertail -> RE: Collarme spying on users? (5/13/2010 11:50:28 AM)

Sorry, I have to doubt still.   It might be an old address and thru a glitch they havent updated. But  I am going to have to believe that whoever owns this site, did not start up a website some what?  Is it 10, 12, 15 years ago, to snag out only your measly 20 bucks outta the bank, when obviously they got some advertizing revs coming in, or to try and knock off some lez pussy, that would be more my style, and I assure you I aint got a pot to piss in or window to throw it out of, let alone own this site.

Instead of jumping to conclusions, next time we would appreciate it if you would write to Support (which you did), or to a Moderator, and then wait for an answer before posting something that is sure to alarm people.

Support tells us that they responded to you, and for anyone else wondering, that message was sent to the email address that you put on your profile here on Collarchat.  The moderators do not have access to the email address itself, just a button to click to send a message.

Hopefully this resolves any lingering doubts.

Ronne,

I would tend to agree with you except when I created the profile, I didn't even have the address that the message was sent to. I created the messaged email address after starting the whip making company. So getting it there ain't kosher with me.

Make sense?

Actually, it wasn't sent to that email address. Which I had to correct Support on. If Support had bothered to read the copy and pasted email, they'd have noticed that the email address the message was sent to is not nor has even been the email in which my account is linked to.

Thank you.

BoiJen -> RE: Collarme spying on users? (5/13/2010 11:56:09 AM)

And if the damned thing wouldn't be deleted, I'd copy and paste it.

I'm not mad about the post removal..hell I figured it'd happen. I'm mad about collarme compromising my system security.

Check your forwarding options on the email account you used to sign up.  Chances are good you have it set up to forward mail to your other account, or did at one time, especially if it's Yahoo.  I set up a Yahoo account to forward to my AOL account, then changed it, but every so often Yahell still thinks mail sent there should be forwarded to my old AOL account.  Not always, just sometimes.

Separate accounts with no forwarding because I had this silly fuckin idea that I would need to keep the kinky customers away from the non-kinky customers and was gonna use the original email addy for the kinky stuff. I remember only because I spent hours talking to MsKitty about this before comign to an understanding of "oh fuck it"

Besides, even with forwarding (my "vanilla" email accounts have forwarding between them)...isn't there a trace?

Hotmail and yahoo have always notified me that such and such email is a forward.

Damn Ron...if it means that much to you I can find someone who'll give you a blowjob. Girls like boyfriends with good skills - computer hacking skills, bowhunting skills, nunchuck skills...

fluffypet61 -> RE: Collarme spying on users? (5/13/2010 12:17:03 PM)

i have two profiles - Collarme and Collarchat

My Collarme profile has a special email address i set up just for emails from "the other side".

My Collarchat profile has my regular email address.

They are actually two different web sites.

There is, but sometimes it's not as obvious as you'd think.  When the Gmail account for my SecondLife avatar forwards, I often think it arrived in my regular email just like any other piece of mail.  I don't realize it's been forwarded until I open it and start looking at the headers because OMG-that-sender-shouldn't-have-my-email-addy

However, if you haven't set up forwarding for any of your kinky accounts, then I got nothin'.

Phoenix73Sir -> RE: Collarme spying on users? (5/13/2010 12:25:13 PM)

Tis a mystery.. *fetches the scooby gang*

the only possible reason I can think of is that this forum is in a sense separate to CM as far as profiles go. There is a place in your board options where you can input an email addy (mine happens to be the same as my CM main site addy) as well as any URL for your own site etc.

But then you've double checked that so, I'm at a loss.
