I got to thinking- why not next time bring in a tape of halloween screams to speed up the wait time?

Sit in the wait room- and play the tape- others will note it and some will leave- this means you get in sooner!!!

I love the gas...mkes me relax and endure the shot...with an numbing agent of course.

Status: offline 		It was offered to me as an option and I took it. The mask goes over my nose and I would breathe it while the dentist gets his tray set up.

I also close my eyes because i put myself in a trance and not worry about everything else.

I am one of those who does not have pain afterwards. I just get painkillers just in case there is pain.

Status: offline 		Doesn't need to be more than a minute or two. Because it doesn't take long to pull a tooth.

Me? I go for novocaine and if it isn't fully numb RAISE YOUR HAND. That signals the dentist that you have a problem. Never known a dentist who didn't use that as a signal. And sometimes you just have a nerve that refuses to be numbed. I once needed three shots for him to work. The shots were in the right place, the nerve was just being pissy.

If it's laughing gas that they use in America, then a couple of minutes, but you feel a bit spaced for longer.

Status: offline 		I'm absolutely the worst patient a dentist could have. I got kicked out of one practice at the age of 25 when I bit the guy. Can't understand why he got all pissy. Not my fault he didn't pull his thumb outta my mouth fast enough.

Any work I get done, including fillings, takes about 10-12 shots of novocaine. And they know it hurts when I try to climb out the back of the chair. I'ma thinking they should apply for combat pay when they get me. The most definitely deserve it.

Being the world's hugest pussy about needles and having anxiety attacks when they are around, I can tell you that my dentist has to gas the hell out of me to do the shots. The actual gas high ends because he puts me on oxygen before he lets me leave. Driving on laughing gas is probably not the best idea. I can't tell you though that I have felt anything he's done for oh the last decade since I've been going to him and I appreciate that he's pretty good humored about my neurosis.
