akame -> The New Dress (4/7/2006 4:09:08 PM)

we have been playing with stitching. One of our lil buddies loves to get them...so...i came up with a new dress for her to wear that hangs from her stitches. it's like playing dress up and Doctor all at the same time! hehehehe. here is what we did. first, i took a tee-skirt and modified it. (to make a tee-skirt, you crop off a tee shirt, turn the bottom over and run elastic through the hem to make a matching skirt and a legal outfit to wear outside or at the beach out of 1 tee shirt.) anyway...i cut chunks out of the hem so i could hang elastic pieces from the elastic through the holes (chunks) cut out. (i used a combo of rivits and snaps to hold it all in place. for a drawing of this dress, so you can get the rivit and snap locations correct, just ask, i'm working on it now.) i cut out 10 chunks of the hem so she could have 10 places for it to hang from around her waist. each piece of elastic (the 10 it will be hanging from) should be about 2"-3" s long from the stitch (in her skin) to where it will hang for the skirt to hang from it. we have a thick tube we use to tie off the stitches so the 3/8" elastic will fit perfectly. for the top i took the arm sleeve and cut it up so that the top of the sleeve (the shoulder area) became the top of her top. i ran elastic through the hem, after cutting out the chunks for the elastic holders?? to hang at. (i cut 5 for the top) i again used rivits and snaps to hold it all together at both ends and sewed 5 more stitches across the top of each of her breasts. hint: the rivits are to hold the elastic at the skirt or top, the snaps are so the elastic can be ran through the stitches and snapped together so it can be used again and again. enjoy the New Dress's, and ya, it's going to look so freaking HOT! and ya, she promised we could get some pixs to share...so...when i do you'll will, hugzzz, me
