Yes PetSmart, PetCo sell tranrantulas they eat cricket's and having had lizards who eat crickets it is a nice sound to have around especially in the winter months. Go for it BitaT I hear they make great pets. *Brightspot

Tarantulas are very friendly in my experience - they just walk around and stuff. A tarantula walking on you is kinda of nice like lazy 8s or something like that. Tickley is all. 2-3" They sometimes make a buzzing noise but are otherwise quiet creatures. They need dirt to burrow in and they eat dead vegetable matter and tubers. I know people that will literally throw up or run screaming from the room at the mere mention of the dreaded potato bug! I used to get squeamish of them too until I owned one as a pet. Well, Himself just nixed the tarantula and all other arachnids as well as all reptiles and most amphibians. Actually, he just modified it to.. "Dogs. Period." I didn't bring up rodents. lol Celeste ::edits to grumble:: Some Masters are real wise acres. Himself just offered me a pet oyster.

gigglez i think it's neet that Men are afraid of spiders. It kind of shows they are human afterall. I remember awhile back when i was at the local Dungeon speaking with Mz. Midori, She was the speaker that whole weekend. She was showing me some of her toys, telling me what she was going to do with a few of them. I happened upon a jar of ants. I HAD to ask. She just did Her head tilted grin. (if anyone has seen Midori, you know how sexy that She is for one, but that head tilted grin gives you shivers up your spine) I was very curious as to what She was going to do with those ants...i sat back and watched Her bring up this boy, She tied him very tight, blindfolded him, then turned around and grabbed this paper bag. No one could see what She was doing at the time, She then put the bag over the boy's head...............WOW! was it ever interesting to watch. Those ants were inside the bag, and the wonderfull noises that boy made.........the Sadistic grin on Midori's face was priceless. Now.........these were just ants, can you imagine spiders? <snickerz> (i have a fascination with spiders, especially the black widows on my back porch i keep) Happy Sunday! ~smilezz~
