I know there will be some people who just can't bear to hear the truth; sad.

More Jobs May Be Created This Year Than During Entire Bush Presidency | News One

If the economy produces jobs over the next eight months at the same pace as it did over the past four months, the nation will have created more jobs in 2010 alone than it did over the entire eight years of George W. Bush’s presidency.

Absolutely wrong.

Obama is destroying the economy and heading this country into socialism regardless of what the facts are.

Actually, I heard this on the news a week or more ago.  In fact, I heard that there have already been more jobs created.  However, unemployment numbers remain high due to benefits being extended and people still looking for work, so the numbers don't "feel" like they should.  It's going to take a while to rebound from this.  Its why I snicker to myself when I hear of people saying things like "time is up", "not enough time", unemployment is still up, and all the other negative things.  Alot of bad was being done before we started to pay attention to it and try to correct it.

Think of it as a diet.  You don't gain 50 lbs overnight and you aren't going to lose 50 lbs overnight. Or...errr...something like that. [&:]

Maybe so but do we really "need" more lawyers in the govt?
When can we expect all the " millions of high-paying manufacturing jobs" that Clinton promised us if "NAFTA" were passed?
It's been 16 years now!

Sure if, Obama keeps the Census running for the rest of His presidency, he can continue to post these kinds of numbers.

The ignorance of some people is astounding....

Brain -> RE: More Jobs May Be Created This Year Than During Entire Bush Presidency | News One (5/18/2010 6:06:09 PM)

Or was it Bush LYING and saying "There IS no recession" that kept us from doing anything to help until he got OUT.

Brain -> RE: More Jobs May Be Created This Year Than During Entire Bush Presidency | News One (5/18/2010 6:24:51 PM)

If predictions come true that unemployment drops, jobs are created, and the economy improves, what will you say then? If it doesn't improve, then you can blame Obama but if it does, you'll still blame him for not doing it faster or the way you wanted him to do it. There is no pleasing the indignant far right.

That's not much of an accomplishment.  There were almost no jobs created under Bush's watch.

You mean Blackwater, KBR and Halliburton are laying off people?

Are the Democrats starting elections propaganda campaign?  Unemployment is projected by economists to remain unchanged around 10% this year.

It is also important what type of jobs are created.
From Today's Bloomberg news: College Grads Flood U.S. Labor Market With Diminished Prospects:
"Ten months after graduating from Ohio State University with a civil-engineering degree and three internships, Matt Grant finally has a job- as a banquet waiter at a Clarion Inn near Akron, Ohio. "

Good mnnt, then wages will rise, as will tax revenues.

luckydawg -> RE: More Jobs May Be Created This Year Than During Entire Bush Presidency | News One (5/19/2010 4:03:23 PM)

I am just poiinting out that over 100,000 temporary census workers have been hired. They are temporary.

Bush didn't get to do a census( every ten years-- clinton got one, so did Obama) , or he would have gotten a huge(meaningless) bump in his numbers also.

But the idea that the rate of hiring will continue ata the same pace, after Census operations are done, is simply stupid.
