It would be nice to see our present day Constitution amended so that:

1. The President was empowered with a line-item veto.

2. Congress would need more votes to pass deficit spending measures.

----

It might also be nice to go back to the old days when Congress had to DECLARE WAR.

----

As for Proudsub's wish, the Supreme Court has alreadey infered a "right of privacy" into the Constitution. Ironically, conservative judges may overrule that.

Bold emphasis Mine.

???????????????
Confused here.  Does Papua, New Guinea use the U.S. Constitution as their basis of law?  Or do you just live there while maintining your citizenship from a distance?
Enquiring minds, and all that....

So the other styles are presumably OK?

You didn't say why you thought it sucked so let me help you: command economies don't work very well, and the dictatorship of the proletariat turns out to be just as vicious as any other kind of dictatorship. No surprises there.

On the other hand communism has a moral dimension, which is something that is entirely absent in capitalism.

'to each according to their needs, fromeach according to their abilities' classic communism and arguably a restatement of Christianity as preached by Jesus Christ. Therefore the vatican is communist, cos surely it wouldn't go against JC. i look forward to the vatican enforcing the prohibition against usury as strongly as it opposes homosexuality. After all Jesus threw the gays out of the temple not the money changers..............or was it the other way round..........

As of now, there are no perfect systems. As soon as I get the time, I'm going to post my madman's idea of the closest we can get to "perfect", in terms of an economic system.....

"The early American Bars were *franchises* of the British INTERNATIONAL Bar. "

OK and a franchise is what ?

This seems contradictory, but then, I am about to do that too. Ohio was one of the ratifiers, but had not become a state. Ohio became a state in 1953 retroactively 150 years. Since retroactive Law is unconstitutional and null and void, welcome to my country, province, territory or whatever. Whatever the case, Dodge and Dunn found printed copies of the Constitution in a few different libraries. All the facts are not clear probably partly due to the "reconstruction".

I have found so many lies in mainstream history that I am open to the possibility that many many things we were taught were untrue. Similar lies exist in many many fields. That's why I used to like math, it is clear cut. If mathematic principles were applied to other forms of learning, that is that you must prove everything, things would be different.

Anyway, the authors of the original thirteenth amendment thought it necessary. Why do you think that was ? Their intent was clear. It is also a fairly good assumption that they intended it to include members of the Bar, which by your own words was a "franchise" of a foreign entity.

Couple things:

1. If you want to discuss the Titles Of Nobility Act in depth, let's take it to mail.

2. No flames, all we have here is a difference.

The tinfoil hat remark may have been a bit out of line, everbody knows they don't work. Best thing is tennis shoes so you are not grounded, and a metal chastity belt or other bondage device applied away frow the head to redirect the rays :-)

If the Constitution were written today, if I was in on it, it wouldn't be 1-10 inclusive, it would be 1-11;

Eleventh original amendment of 2006: If anyone violates this Constitution they will be punished by Law. If any person uses re-interpretation of the Constitution for gain or usurpation of the People's Rights they shall be executed.

How about a Twelfth :

T

All human beings regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation, race are equal and guaranteed the same rights under the law.
The state and church shall always be and remain separated. (this is actually in the Constitution but the current administration has forgotten that.)

Those are the two that popped into my head immediately.
