People all over the world are beginning to call this president "o BOW ma" because of the way he constantly grovels and apologizes for all our imagined sins.

We WONT get me started.  Not during the 107 minute super music set on the radio right now. lol

What kind of president teams with foreign nations to attack American states?

One who thinks "Leader of the Free World" is his official title.

And here I thought that was what we have called our President for years, regardless of who was in office.

Michelle Malkin is a sexually frustrated virgin.

Got anything to back that assertion with, RML, or are you just spewing more hate filled nonsense to try and distract from the facts? You know, like calling McCarthyism on people asking the Attorney General perfectly legitimate questions?

No, it was called a joke Richie.

I know you really don't understand humor because I'm pretty sure you are a sexually frustrated virgin too.

False premise, RML. You don't get jokes and are therefore incapable of making them. Why don't you try to answer the comparison of what Calderon wants his northern border to look like, vs. how his southern border is managed?

Topic too tough for you?

I would love to see the posts where Sanity attacked Bush for not doing anything to stop illegal immigration. Just one post.

That's right, for some reason Fox news didn't think it was that big of an issue when Bush was in office.

I will give popeye some credit on this point. The guy never wavered. Albeit he was listening to Lou Dobbs at the time. Popeye always stood against illegals even when Bush was in office.

The majority of you should not have the ability to discuss the issue at this point because you forfeited your right when you refused to be critical of the previous administration.

Sanity -> RE: Obama on the Arizona law (5/20/2010 7:16:43 AM)

I thought the Democrats were all about surrendering out leadership position in the world. Giving up all our manufacturing and modern conveniences because of global warming, and dismantling our military so we won't go around taking down any more bloodthirsty socialist dictators. I mean, don't they believe that leading the free world is a war crime, and all that crap?

And shouldn't a leader, you know... actually lead? Instead of bending over and sticking his face in other people's crotches all of the time?

Bush and McCain tried for amnesty for the illegals, but the American people with the help of Republicans in Congress shot that down.

Bush was too soft on illegal immigration, him and Obama are practically twins in a lot of ways.

I don't know about Democrats as a whole, but I've met a lot of people who think that it's selfish and immoral for the POTUS to have more interest in the well being of the US than in the well being of the world in general.

To me, the President of the US is supposed to represent US interests in the world. And that's not a selfish fuck the rest of you idea, because part of representing your own interests is maintaining alliances and creating a reputation of helping the world and being a force of good, but there needs to be an awareness of that.

The POTUS is the leader of the US. Anything else is secondary.

Yes it is.

I'm so outmatched by your amazing intellect that I'm afraid to try.

I did a search under your name and "illegal" but it just came up with your posts about young boys.....(just kidding)

The search engine on this site sucks cock. It doesn't work.

Did you criticize Bush when he went soft on this issue?

Sanity, I really don't know if you did...Just asking.

I think now would be a great time to remind us of how all Democrats are haters and of the anger and bitterness we have.

Oh, and let's not forget your lectures on respect for the Presidency (which I guess only applied when Bush was in office).

Elisabella -> RE: Obama on the Arizona law (5/20/2010 7:38:02 AM)

And for the record my mother is hardcore Democrat and has been against illegal immigration since Clinton was in office.

Seriously she like, writes letters to congressmen and shit.

Election year again, is it?

Amid all this posturing about illegals, there's one reality I never see anyone addressing...

***Tightly Securing the Border will Cost Money. LOTS of Money.***

Nor, of course, do I see any ideas about just where all that money is gonna come from.

Without a solid, realistic plan for that, the rest is just talk, and always will be.

You're fucking hilarious Sanity.

You defended Bush endlessly and supported McCain.

Now you want to backtrack, like so many other Republicans, and criticize them both.

This might be a good place to start

The story here is for the most part a familiar one: of the rapid conversion of wartime internationalism into the nationalist globalism of the Cold War and how “between 1947 and 1950 the notion that the United States was ‘the leader of the free world’ began to emerge as the dominant trope to explain America’s hegemonic role in a divided world.” (159) Fousek demonstrates how the thinking of both liberal and conservative internationalists was shaped by an emergent globalism, noting the many ideas and assumptions shared by Henry Luce’s “American Century” and Henry Wallace’s “Century of the Common Man.” In a brief but highly suggestive “visual essay,” he shows how corporate advertising helped create an “iconography of America’s new global supremacy.” (91-103). Like others who have examined the savage civil war that shattered the old New Deal left, Fousek traces the opposition to the new globalism by popular front liberals, left-wing labor leaders and prominent African-Americans, the repressive marginalization of these critics and the triumph of the new “vital center” liberalism of the Cold War. “In the mid-1940s, the CIO and the NAACP both stood for an antimilitarist, anti-colonial, multilaterialist foreign policy based upon international cooperation; by 1950 both organizations supported the main elements of the Truman administration’s foreign policy, which was increasingly militaristic, hegemonic, and unilateralist.”

Or just browse Google for a bit

Sanity -> RE: Obama on the Arizona law (5/20/2010 8:05:30 AM)

If we stop one major terrorist incident with better border control even the most costly measures will effectively pay for themselves, and the illegal immigrants themselves have a cost.

Also, a cheap and effective way to crack down on illegal immigration would be enforcing steep fines and significant jail time penalties for any employer caught hiring illegals.
