MistressDREADS still live and kickin!!

8 Sisters and Brothers lost their Homes
My Home in Jamaica halfs still standin
(thank Jah it was the half blown away
that was insured!) but the insurance
company got blown away so dont know
how thats gonna work........
The Farms whiped out sept the yam, yukka
and potatoes so got plenty food to make due.
spent three days burning and
burying goat and chicken
carcasses killed.
Three Fishing Boats lost ( sumone heard on
the radio two Jamaican boats washed up on
Cuba shores and Castro used em for fire wood,
probably Mine! LOL )
BeachFront rentals and club washed away.
No schools left standing in Our Parish
Electrical Grids still under 5 foot of water
and dont expect to gain any utilities to the
area for no less then four to six months.
Fresh waters in short supply, but My family
has a hidden block sisteen We built last year
for water for the familys use in Our Mountainside.
~wink~ We soooooo smart sum times!
Pops House allright but He complainin his bones ach
an he wanna go soakem in the salt water seaside so its been
a fight to keep the 78 year old who can barely stand up
hard headed man in his house away from the quarter mile
walk down to the ocean front and out of harms way.. LOL
Befor I left the US
Roof dammage to Both My Homes and trees down
and flooding at the Construction Job Site in Florida
Im not EVENNN gonna worry about till I return there.
All and All We are all present and accounted for so
things will rebuild and repair and life goes on but
a bit worried about the next month or so of storms
that still might hit Us here befor We can recoop.
A lot of looting and disparity with people here as
many lost everything and to find basic food and water
is a day long chore now and those of Us who got have
to physically protect Our areas from the looters. Thats
the sad part of all of this besides the dead and missing.
None of the hospitals have any utilities either and only
one in Kingston has generator power but heard that gas
is hard to find to keep it filled. At least Im not 24 hours
on and 6 off anymore but 16 on and 8 off for now.
At this point any donations of anything are being accepted
for any island and here are a couple of addresses to
send anything you might and can: even $1.00 US dollar
will help for that one dollar is worth $65.00 dollars in Jamaican
money and would buy basic food for one person to survive a week.

A Fisherman was asked why He thought that the Eye
of Ivan stayed 8 miles off of the coast of Jamaica and
the fisherman said: The Rasta Man were smoken soo
hard waitin for Ivan the Terrible to hit that it put up a
smoke screen that blinded Ivans eye and He couldent
find Us! HAHAHAHA! A lil Jamaican humor for your
day!
Oh and thanks Gungasoid for the thought an caring.

Thanks for all the information and for letting us know you and yours are well; even if you are dealing with a real mess.

Sincerely,
ann

PS: I am well after round 3 also. Not even a wind while it went by. I was getting nervous about Jeanne but she stalled. She must know not to come near DREAD, hehe.

I'm sorry for all your property losses MistressDread but am glad to hear your family is alive and well. I hope the insurance co. isn't too difficult to deal with. On the bright side, maybe your constructin business can do some good business after all this.

Dread we are all glad that you and yours are fine, i know it must suck to be there without, but hopefully you all will get some assistance.

One person i know has been down in florida for weeks assisting where needed.

thanks for posting the info on relief organizations as well.

I know i will say a prayer for those that lost a lot more than their stuff.
