I'm sorry, I have no time to answer your question. I'm a senior bigwig at the Securities and Exchange Commission, and I'm too busy pulling down at least a hundred grand a year while viewing porn at sites like naughty.com, skankwire and youporn for hours... while the banks knowingly defraud their customers, and then fail, and taxpayers end up funding a bailout.

I'm just evil, like that.

I don't log in from work because I'm boring boring bourgeoisie about everything, but I am curious to know, how often do you laugh at all here? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but I have yet to laugh. Granted, as boring bourgie boy I hardly laugh at all anyway, but I usually notice when something SHOULD be laughed at.

Kevin,

Will you stop winding up the world, you're getting careless, you occassionally say something that makes sense.

The hell it doesn't. The one person you have to be absolutely honest with is your therapist. Otherwise you're wasting your time and hers. Besides you're rather ocd about stilettoes, and that's a problem that is negatively impacting your life.

But I give you points for spelling sjambok correctly.

Goodness!  I laugh all of the time reading here.  Some of it is from outright jokes and other times it is from what would be considered more an 'inside' joke.  It's banter between Myself and someone else from the boards who we've listened to each other often and have gotten to know our viewpoints that we share.  Some of us just have the same kind of humor and that makes some things doubly funny.

I actually don't read CM at work.  The thought just occurred to Me as I was laughing so hard at something Jefff said today.  I can promise you that, at home, I've laughed so hard at something someone posted on the site that tears were coming down My face.  My husband is used to it.  I'm not quite sure how that would go over on the job though.

Usually when something on here makes me laugh I call all my co-workers over to read it too.....

But we dont get on CM often, we're usually too busy playing Mafia wars and watching you-tube videos, or checking baseball stats from the night before..or very occasionally watching porn..

Sometimes we even take our computer log-in system offline and make our customers sign in manually so it doesnt disturb the porn videos everytime someone logs in and their info pops up on the screen.

Sometimes the things we watch on the computer are so entertaining that we show our members.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job???

Hi LadyPact,
I never log into this site from work. I also have an email account that I use for my friends from here. I never log into it either. I love my job too much to jeapordize it.

As for the laughing thing. I almost never really laugh. On occasion I will, but it's rare. I do snort a lot... and it makes me think, but out and out laughing? nah. My humor is more auditory I guess. When we start doing puns I will on occasion get on a roll and giggle a bit.
best,
sunshine

I wouldn't think of logging on to CM from my work computer. Nope, the kind of work I do and CM do not mix.

I used to take my laptop to work with me and log onto CM during my lunch break. However, I was typically in an empty classroom. Often times I would laugh my ass off.

I'm interested in something and I wanted some feedback.  This is specifically a question for those of you who log into CM from work.

Exactly how do you pull this off?  I'm not talking about possible policies about what sites you can log onto from a 'company's property' computer or any of the immediate reasons that might spring to mind.

What I want to know is, how do you avoid laughing your ass off when coming to this place?  Do you ever find it difficult to remain professional when things written on some threads make you almost fall out of your chair laughing?  How often do you have trouble keeping a straight face?

Most of my computer work is done from home.  When I am on the road and use the "company laptop" I tend to share whatever is funny.  Especially since the company owner is on this site as well.  I have yet to figure out how to access this site from the crackberry.  *sigh*

Clears throat on this high jack.  (I thought I was bad- yikes!)

One of my brothers works for a big named co.  I wont even email him sensitive things anymore. Not him.  These places are very intrusive.  Even tho he has been there 20 years- they have laid off up to him being in peril.    So- I do not want to wonder if it was "me" who sent a critical email.

I am lucky enough to work for a very small company.......very very small. There is the owner (also a fishing buddy/friend) and right now, two other guys. Usually another part timer college intern.

As long as I do my job, whatever else I do, as long as no one gets upset about it, isn't an issue. Hell, I took my new, 8 week old puppy, to work with me last Monday. I laugh at stuff on here ALL THE TIME. If someone asks, depending upon what I am laughing about and who is asking, I either share or tell them something like "you don't want to know...".

I am very spoiled when it comes to my job.

Don't you get monitored by management? At my work, TONS of sites are blocked anyway, but even if they weren't, I wouldn't chance it.

I do go onto it from my current main job and delete my connections as well as I can and never had a problem there...however, I did not manage to delete my connections at my placement computers, therefore, needless to say, I never dared to go onto CM from there (but also not seriously considered it as in that job I would not only risk to ruin my job but also damage my career for a longer time with going onto a page like CM). Therefore on that place as well as once i would be in that job after graduating, I only used and would use my internet on my phone on that place...there I would not risk it as in that job is much more at risk when being caught out then at my current job.

It depends on who I'm working with. If it's the boss, then I don't. If it's Grim, then I log in from my laptop. I tell him what I laughing at & show him pictures from here & fetlife. Grim teases me about porn. He called ravelry "yarn porn" the other day. Also I'm friendly with our IT guys, so I know what I can get away with.
