Okay so i go to work yest my computer was working fine. When i get home my puter is off (which happens occassionally because power flips on and off - but have good surge protector). I turn on my computer and my mouse seems fine -- moves clicks to open programs and will even click in the box and allow me to type. However, my mouse will highlight links but not let me actually click on them. I have to right click and open. It won't let me hit my arrow key to open my history in my address bar etc.

Anyone have any ideas what is going on? I turned my puter off and on about 4 times and does the same thing. It also won't let me click shut down on my start button -- i have to go into the task window and click shut down.

Thanks for any advise or thoughts.

Do not let the cat toy with the mouse[:D]

Serious note, ive had this happen after one of microsofts wonderful updates, i just restore from a few days ago.

Start/ all programmes/ maintenance/ backup and restore center

see if  you can slosh around in tools internet options advance and find the automatically open links or take me directly to them or whatver it says

I will try that also Ron to see if the things just got messed up and the default set differently. See its stuff like this why the cars and computers are THE MAN'S JOB!

No help but I spent three days running virus scans, registry cleaners, malware etc before it dawned on me it wasn't the computer that was slow, but the battery in the mouse was dying.
