I am really digging all the responses on this thread. I met him too, many many moons ago, and he was indeed a brilliant artist and a very nice person who deserves better than to have these f#ktards show up and hassle his celebration of life. Since the news came out yesterday, his wife Wendy, knowing everyone's hearts on the matter, went on the Dio homepage and their page at Facebook pleading with everyone for moderation at the service today - a strong woman suggesting a wise choice (thinking more along the lines of everyone holding each other and singing "Give Peace A Chance" across the street from where John Lennon was murdered), but by all the gods, as a Pagan (who I'm sure Phelps and his minions would LURV* to burn at the stake) and a big huge Dio fan I'd be spoiling for a fight if I was there.. and yes, when their times do come, WBC is in for a Big Surprise (HA HA, you're a twat waffle Phelps)..

Actually considering that this isn't an issue so much of freedom of speech but freedom of religion, I'd suggest getting federal authorities involved and charging them with conspiring to prevent free practice of religion. And once you bring conspiracy charges in, then you can go to town with RICO.

simple final solutions for this despicable behaviour are attractive to all right thinking people I feel. but I also feel that right thinking people should have to disavow that qualification in wishing for such a fulfilment, considering that these parasites often bring their small children along in whom the indoctrination may be reversible. Sadly no matter what laws are amended or created there will always be a group somewhere with the legal muscle or lobbying clout to change it or find a loophole. I think the alternative is a poo pumper truck chock full of faecal goodness, a fire pump, hose and pressure nozzle. Lets see their resolve stand up under a good hosing..........

One more 'fast reply' -- Personally, I'm waiting for them to protest the funeral of another military member who just happens to be the son or daughter of a former soldier or marine who's just disturbed enough to be unaware that their war is 'over.' You know....the type who's 'functional' enough to have an arsenal in their position but who might have 'slipped through the cracks' until a stressor triggers them to demonstrate exactly how 'unwell' they are mentally....perhaps on the the people in that lil cult..

Here's Just a thought so called Christian's Shot and Paralyzed pornographer Larry Flynnt and the shooter has never been caught. I say we return the favor for phelps. You can't tell me that there are more than enough cops to look the other way like they did on old hustler larry. How many Cops do you think listened to DIO and Black Sabbath when they were growing up? I mean history is repleate with cops looking the other way when something like that goes down.

I really do not think this is free speech it's harrassment. When free speech infringes on others peoples rights it's no longer free speech.
