I am wondering why so many 2004 threads are suddenly being revived. Is CM posting excerpts that people are replying to? I doubt if posters are searching for these particlar topics.

I have noticed this over the years. Often it is done by just one or two people when first learning to use the search features. I have seen one individual open as many as 15 or 20 dead threads in a row.

I know I do it on occasion when the topics aren't as interesting to get some new perspectives, but I usually know the date, unlike this evening when I had a duh---LOL

Actually, I kind of like to see new users revive ancient threads.  Sometimes they have something new to contribute.

I don't mind as long as the time period and the subject matter didn't count on each other. The one about the 'late' Dom that was a tad ancient might have been a little "oops", but I haven't seen too many other irrelevent resurrections.

I don't either, in fact i have always encouraged searching for relevant threads before starting a new one.  I was just a little surprised today when the first three threads that i read were from early 2004.

Only troublemakers look up old threads, or so I have been told.

okay, okay, okay!!!
I'm opening an old thread...reason? Uh, I said somthing recently and it kinda come back to this old thread, right here.
Since I was one of the culprits of opening new threads when I was new and didn't notice the dates, I kinda felt bad about it.
I really didn't know how to look back and see what comments were written afterwards...Doh on me LOL
Well, after posting, every once and again, I didn't learn alot other than how to post. Just kinda remember the name of what I had posted to and then check back on it. Well, if I didn't remember the name of what I'd posted to, then it kinda went by the wayside...Lo and Behold, today...after all this friggin time....I found out how to find my threads I've posted to... I'm so laughin at myself. So, if you ever replied to anything I've said, well, sorry if I didn't answer back.
Sometimes, when you're new on here, ya just wanna look at everything and say..uh huh....wow....omg that's it..etc.
I gotta say, this site is much more evolved than any site I've ever posted to. Usually you post, then search back from memory, as to where you've been. They're so simplistic...this is amazing...Thanks CollarChat...I'ma learnin'  LOL
Oh, am I gonna go back and try to figure out how stuff is done? ummmmm where do I look? < Laughing> I get enthused to get started alotta times. The workings of it sometimes gets lost in that enthusiasm. BTW I had the basics, so I didn't go looking for any instruction book the first time I decided to O either. < crackin up >

It would be interesting to see if you would answer the thread the same way you did the first time.

Are any of them from my posting links? HA.

I dislike when a post gets revived just for someone to say "Yeah, I agree with what that guy said" and that's it.  But like all discussions, the good ones never end- they just get churned in the backgroun for awhile.

There is no such thing as a dead thread, and I don't think any poster's attention span need be limited to current posts, especially given how moribund things have been.

My hat always goes off to anyone searching the past for something interesting to read and post about.

The energy here has been about the lowest I've ever seen it. (Summer doldrums, I suppose.)

LA, I think this is precisely how many old post get rechurned.  You (and others) make referrences to old posts, others click on the links and then respond to those posts.  For the most part, I don't think its a bad thing as often they have something new to add.

Then there are other times when I figure the ghosts of CM retread old stuff when the message boards get boring.  Who knows?

I've actually discovered a few things since then. At least now, I do look to see if it's an old string. I know how to do those cool quotey thingys too.

Hey Lawrence, good to see a familiar face. I haven't seen you posting in a while. I sometimes forget when I am logged onto my slave's profile. I guess I have a one track mind when I'm posting. Lol.
