STRICTMASTER4TPE -> best sites for gear? (5/25/2010 12:30:46 PM)

just was wondering is there any sites that are good quality and price as well..I know sometimes you get what you pay for.
I made a few ebay and other impulse buys in the past...it looks good on the pictures and you get in the mail and ask yourself whats this crap...usually falls apart within months of use....so can anyone guide me in right direction? is there one specific site that stands out from the rest?

Generally, I don't buy much of anything that I can't put My hands on and see the quality for Myself.  Don't get Me wrong, there are huge advantages to online shopping (convenience, etc) but it has it's downfalls as well.  The only times that I will buy things from sites, are when I have been a happy customer prior after purchasing a product from them.  That means that I bought something from them in person and I've been happy with the quality of the product that I already own.

I have, and continue to be a satisfied customer of:

Achella - They were bought out a few years back.  The new company is good, but Torvea never really did quite come up to the same kind of quality.

JT's Stockroom - They are more of a distributor, but you'll find many good selections.

MrS/MsS Leather - If you've been to the store in San Fransisco, you would absolutely have faith in ordering from them online.

MsMartha's Corset Shoppe - Probably not the 'gear' you intended, but I have been very happy with every piece that I've ever purchased from her.

ETA - Whoops, I forgot one:

I've also been a customer of Panther Prowls.

I carry Mr S Leather quality bdsm gear and all their products come guaranteed with a manufacturers defect warrenty.
I've never had any complaints about their products lasting a short period of time.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

I second Mr S and was going to suggest them as well. They have top notch gear. Enjoy!

hi!

we have great gear on http://www.ctoutlet.com ! ships same day from California, and our quality is top notch, we hand pick each supplier.

we also make custom latex catsuits and other outfits!

I've used bdsm-gear.com. the stuff looks like what they have in the pictures. they make their own stuff, and it's not always the prettiest, but it's well made. I wouldn't suggest getting sex toys, but decent floggers and paddles.
cane-iac.com is amazing. just paddles straps and canes though. but quite good prices.
there's also extremerestraints, which I like better than stockroom. it's the site that you go to when you hit the "BDSM Gear" tab on here on cm.  the prices are often a little bit cheaper, they give you 5% back on your orders as credit, and they generally have several pictures of items.
I also like sub-shop. always has sales going on and good distributor. good selection of clothing too. tends to be a little cheaper than extremerestraints on some things.

I've been a Mr S/Madame S customer for probably 10 years.  I've probably spent around $7K on their merchandise.  (Big items are a leather straitjacket and sleep sack.)

They're probably the most expensive maker out there.  But I'll also say that I've never received a single thing from them that I didn't feel was well worth the high price.

If I ever win the lottery, marry a pro domme, and decide to open my own dungeon, it will be equipped with Mr. S gear.  I consider their gear to be professional grade.

pwnerandpwned -> RE: best sites for gear? (6/13/2010 4:42:40 PM)

I'll still suggest ww.Sub-shop.com, despite not always being happy. The items that are really cheap (price-wise) tend to be cheaply made stuff they order from somewhere else. The other stuff, for the most part, is pretty well-made, but is still a hit and miss at times. Stock is often not accurately represented on the site and orders ship late. So...why would I recommend it? They just have a great selection of different bondage gear, tons of color choices, and lots of things with a very unique/cute look.

I've bought several things from sub shop.  IMO, they aren't near the quality of Mr. S, but they're a LOT less expensive, too.  I consider them to be a really good quality to price ratio, too.

That said, though, all of my purchases from them were like three years ago.  I've heard several people whose opinions I respect say that for the last year or two, things have really stunk.

I'd still buy from them, because I'd say that I trust my personal experience over some anonymous internet posting.  But I'd be cautious, too.

S1L1 -> RE: best sites for gear? (6/14/2010 5:51:22 PM)

Sub Shop quality seems to have gone down a bit over the last year or two and they seem to have discontinued a lot of the cool things they used to carry.

http://www.kenstwistedmind.com - Lowest prices I've seen on e-stim gear. They have other things of interest too.

http://huse.com - e-stim and other gear.

http://www.sextek.com - More e-stim.

http://happystim-usa.com - Inexpensive DIY conductive rubber for e-stim.

http://www.69adulttoys.com - Quality site for vanilla stuff. Generally much cheaper then retail.

http://www.extremerestraints.com - I'm sure your all familiar with already. I'll add they have excellent customer service as well.

http://ebay.com - I've bought a lot off ebay but keep in mind some stuff on there that is "new" may be seconds/returns/etc.

aBondageTop -> RE: best sites for gear? (6/18/2010 1:25:21 AM)

I've been very happy with gear from sinvention.com. Not cheap, but very nicely finished.

I have a couple of simple rattan canes from cane-iac.com that have lasted for years.

Extreme restraints appears to sell some knock-offs of Sinvention's designs, so I have decided to avoid them.

I have not been happy with sub-shop and won't order from them again.
