Just for you, since you've been good, and you tried hard, I'll try to give you some good advice. [:D]
There was a thread just today in this section about shopping on line. One of the huge advantages (or disadvantages if you like to play with the discomfort for a little fun) is that you don't have to talk to the sales clerk of feel any embarrassment. You have plenty of time to browse the products to decide what is right for you.
A vibrating toy is usually an excellent choice. Even if you don't plan on insertion, they can be a heck of a lot of fun! Honestly, you can have more sensation provided by a silver bullet for about five bucks than you can imagine.
The three things that should be on your mind most when it comes to vibrating toys is size, quality, and price. You didn't mention what size of what you're using now (a flashlight??? not My first recommendation) but you want to think in terms of size relative to that. Remember, you're going to have additional stimulation on top of what you are already used to. Bigger is not always better! Don't make the mistake that a lot of males make, buying something they can possibly really use. Diameter is just as important as length in the regard.
Quality. Never skimp on quality. Go for good material from reputable shops. Enough said.
Price. You don't have to spend a fortune, even with the other two things I mentioned above. If you're only going to buy one, be reasonable, but this is a little something just for you. Why not let it be your luxury spending for this occasion? A toy like this, if you buy a good one, is going to bring you a lot of fun in the future, so live a little. [;)]
One thing that you might want to consider when making your choice is, do you want this toy to be one that is specifically angled for prostrate stimulation? Those are specifically toys that have more curve to them, rather than being more or less straight. They are going to give you a different sensation, but they are very enjoyable. I haven't had a complaint about one yet. How many males prefer these over the regular vibes, I couldn't say, so you'll have to ask personal preference on that one.
