Well ... it was my father and my Dentist who worked together in developing a study and report to village (yes there were still villages at one time) we lived in back in about '64 or '65. And from what I understand it was that study that opened; or at least added to the data; for the door to be opened to Fluoridation of city water for the State of MN. As far as I know I have never directly been effected by it, so I am not worried about it. MstrPBK St. Paul, MN USA

No pa, this is a conspiracy theory I have encountered before, I've read enough to know you're talking out of your arse. Water fluoridation has never (not a single case ever) caused fluorosis beyond superficial levels, and certainly not any of the other alleged health effects. There is no scientific evidence whatsoever that water fluoridation is even slightly harmful, and it is ludicrous to describe it as 'poisoning'. There is a lot of crap thrown around about this by the not-that-bright and the politically motivated because fluoride is harmful if you get too much of it (drinking water is harmful if you get too much of it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_poisoning)...but believe it or not this is something which has been investigated ad infinitum, literally thousands of studies, and no adverse effects of controled levels have ever been found. Your 'concerns' are ludicrous.

More than 60% of the US population drinks fluoridated water yet amazingly large groups are not dropping dead all over the place. Water flouridation is one of the great public health successes. Of course the woo flingers oppose vaccination which is the greatest public health success. I'm surprised the conspiracy idiots haven't come out against sewage treatment which is the public health measure success between vaccines and water flouridation.

I think the issue is more information access these days is too easy and often the people accessing the information are not really able to objectively absorb this information. Many European countries have had fluoride in the water supply for centuries as it exists naturally in the water supply, In Australia we have had it in all the major water supplies since the mid 1970's and before that kids were fed fluoride tablets. I would also think that the Chlorine added to town water would have a greater long term effect than the fluoride does but at the end of the day its all down to the quantity added. I grew up taking fluoride tablets and later taking it in the water with a crossover period of 3 or so years when we took both until my Dad figured out it was already in the Melbourne drinking water and yet im perfectly healthy as are my kids and siblings. If you are concerned about the water then install a filtration system, plenty out there that will remove everything from the water.
