Remember Art Linkletter?  If you don't I'm giving away my age.  I watched him everyday as a kid.  Remember Kids Say the Darndest Things?  He died today in his home.  Rest in peace, Art Linkletter.

I watched him everyday too. Grew up with him, and yes, I loved kids say the darndest things. Remember when his daughter died of a drug overdose and how absoltely scandelous that was ?  RIP Art- you made a few generations very happy.

We watched him as kids too in the 50's and 60's.
His daughter Diane I think her name was, jumped off a building on an LSD trip in 1969 I think.
His bio said he was abandoned by his natural parents in Saskatchewan as a baby.

Yea, I heard 3 of his 5 kids died before him.  His daughter did jump out of a window, but it was rumored that she did not have LSD in her system.  However Art Linkletter did crusade against the use of drugs after her death.  He lost another son to a car accident, and a third son to lymphoma.  But, he said he believed life should be lived, not while sitting in your favorite comfy chair, but by actually living "in" it.  He skiid (skiied?) at age 72.  I always admired him, but when I googled facts on him after I heard of his death, I find I like him even more as I learn.  (Like, he was born in Canada, given up for adoption by an unwed mother), he was adopted by (I think) US citizens and they all moved to San Diego.  He was friends with Ronald Reagan.  He first tried his hand at acting, but later learned that people, and interviewing them, revealing them..was his thing.  And it was, I really liked watching his shows.

I know you didn't mean for it to be, but that is hurtful to those of us who have older relatives we love and want to be here as long as possible.

(how's that for a run-on sentence?!)

RIP Mr. Linkletter...
