Aneirin -> How do you view the rest of the world ? (5/27/2010 5:08:40 AM)

I am interested after reading various articles how the different people in the world view the rest of the world, what is their perception of the others ?

Now I understand on this website, the active users of the forum there are a few representations of countries other than America, so I particularly invite your comment, for the US view is fairly well known jokingly or not ;

We don't care as long as it doesn't affect us

But is that view a fair view, is it correct of the majority of Americans in America today ?

Maybe satire, but is this a common thought ?
or
this for a more precise representation

"We don't care as long as it doesn't affect us"

Hmmm, self centered, self indulgent, shallow, isolationist, somewhat smug...yeah, I would say that's not so far off the mark.
On the flip side, hit our pocketbooks or ego and we freak.

BTW-Your maps rock.

Aneirin, one of the reasons that I don't come to this part of the site is because it is way too US-centric. The other is that many are here to soapbox rather than discuss.

But in all sincerity, the Americans that I've gotten to know have a much broader perspective of the world. Unfortunately, they are becoming the minority.

I however always like to remind people that every country has their version of the rednecks with blinders on.

Very true, unfortunately.

Umm.  I fail to see how the 2 maps differ.

I also find this forum too US centric, but I am of the opinion that if no other nationalities come here to create posts and discuss, then the forum will always be US centric. Yes, I do understand Collarme.com is an American website, but it also a worldwide website, open to all who wish to participate.

But as regards to the American way, this forum is educating, whether that is a correct education or not I have yet to decide, but as it stands at the moment, I expect it is not, because of all the posters that come here, it seems to be relatively few and largely the same names who engage in the home affairs topics. It was that observation that inspired me to launch a posting regarding digital imagery, as it occured many it seems are highly susceptible to not knowing or disregarding the principle of believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see unless you can prove it yourself idea, for it is clear many are taking and talking news headlines.

In an ideal world, an active forum such as this could be a boon to us all, for if the different nationalities came here to discuss, maybe we might learn more about each other than what is commonly thought via popular media outlets and the politics involved in them, for I suspect the learned population of this planet are being hood winked into believing something which is incorrect, for reports made are about the minority big players in the world, not the majority small players which make up the commoner like you and me.

I am not a team player, I am an individual, and I seek my own truths in the world, not the mad ramblings dished out by commerce interested parties who understand big news sells and as a biproduct destabilises the readership, but then where there is money concerned, stuff the consequences, as it sure to generate more commerce potential.

Having been about a bit, I believe that 90% of the people everywhere are very alike, want basically the same things and the only differences are determined by their peculiar social, political and legal environments in how they see those things and aspire to acquire or achieve them.

The remaining 10% generally get the publicity and so influence views of their country or people. This 10% covers a wide spectrum of idiosyncracies, levels of domestic influence, interests and character types, ranging from the utterly stupid and offensive and dangerous through to the misunderstood visionaries and genius few.

too US centric?

hmm.   I found when I tried to hang in say sites that are maybe German???- where ever I was- that the folks were not to talkative to outsiders.  Almost like I was stalking the site.

Maybe people else where have real lifes.   and dont hang online like Americans and Brits do.

The world in some regards is US centric.     But I do notice they play others against the US just as the play the US against others.

Other then that -Anerin. we bring nothing but happiness thru out the world- and the whole world loves us and no one sneezes with out it being blessed by America.    I mean goldman.  LOL

Yea, that sounds about right to me. Unfortunately, there are some on CM who feel the minority speaks for the majority.

I view the world from Sarah Palin's house in Alaska.
(Can't believe nobody has made that joke yet...)

That is how they think huh? Every last one of them? When you get to the point that you can open your mind a little and quit judging a whole country by your misconceived ideas let me know. Until then there is little point in talking.

domiguy -> RE: How do you view the rest of the world ? (5/27/2010 7:17:02 AM)

For awhile I thought that I possibly created all of this up in my mind. It's possible that I might be the only thing alive in the whole universe.

Sometimes I will twist my head real quick to see if I can catch "the world" in the process of being created or perhaps the screen would just be an off grey or black until my imagination figured out what should go into that space.

If I figure it out I will post my results here.

pahunkboy -> RE: How do you view the rest of the world ? (5/27/2010 7:22:02 AM)

Thats not true.

Domiguy is fixated on 72 virgins.  He thinks it all the time.   Mentally he is not American at all-- by this thought.

heartcream -> RE: How do you view the rest of the world ? (5/27/2010 10:18:26 AM)

I like your threads you are starting Anerin, thanks.

Think of our world, how we have third world...This tells us about those of us on the planet who dont ever seem to have a life to those that seem to have so much wealth but feel rotting to the core and undeserving.

Why are these good people starving etc?

Now imagine if there was no third world and imagine the levels of civilization, culture, society and creative input we would have if they were not so busy swatting flies off their starved diseased faces?

Our culture is so technologically based ad nauseam. Imagine the levels of design and diversity if for example pretty much all of Africa was not in the gutter?

The American Dream is so very much older than the United States. Some of the people coming to this continent were doing so because they found the cultural restraints too unpleasant to try and live under in Europe, so risked it all to strike it out here. These were true Hippies. (Obiviously not talking about the muh fuhs who plotted, stole and murdered all over the whole continent and fucked the indigenous people up super bad.)

In Ancient Egypt they had what they referred to as Day 17. Day 17 signified a time of living where there was no fear and no doubt. The American Dream really, a time when everyone was safe to express themselves and live exactly as they wished. Heaven on Earth. There was plenty for everyone. Everyone was trustworthy and warm. There was abundant food, resources. True love in relationships between man and woman, parents and children. No stealing, lying cheating, exploitation and all we have dragged our flappy asses through so far down through the ages.

When one begins to study the Zero Point Field and Quantum Physics one can see we very much affect one another.

Louve00 -> RE: How do you view the rest of the world ? (5/27/2010 10:42:29 AM)

Just a question.  What happened...or what do you think happened to Day 17?

heartcream -> RE: How do you view the rest of the world ? (5/27/2010 10:45:22 AM)

As in the American Dream it is coming, I hope it is, it has a great propensity to. Like many of the prophesies for a similar reality to exist, they will come soon.

Louve00 -> RE: How do you view the rest of the world ? (5/27/2010 10:47:24 AM)

Ahhh, so as I'm understanding it, Day 17 is a time that will come.  Not a time that has been.  Kinda like the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius.  Have you ever read up on astrology and what the signs (and coming of the signs) signifies?

heartcream -> RE: How do you view the rest of the world ? (5/27/2010 11:10:29 AM)

Yes exactly. The first time ever, ever, ever the planets are all aligning since the Dawn of Creation. Every other time some planets were not calibrated correctly and the whole amazing thing that was meant to happen basically has not ever transpired. Pretty significant stuff and at hand really, so we will see soon!

Louve00 -> RE: How do you view the rest of the world ? (5/27/2010 11:19:55 AM)

Yep, we sure will.  Astrologically speaking we are almost at the end of Pisces and will be entering the Age of Aquarius.  Pisces represents religion and our connection and unrest with religion (or something along those lines, but its a time of unrest)  Aquarius is supposed to be super cool.
