'Not' really off topic, but don't know where else to post this. What is going on with this site? My profile here probably over 6 years now, shows on the main page, but when anyone tries to view it, it comes up 'Profile Cannot Be Found'! So needless to say, no one can view my Interest List, or get to the mesage window to send me a message. Then if I should happen to write to someone, they want to check out my profile, it comes up 'Profile Cannot Be Found', it make ME appear as someone not real here, or just another scammer on this site! Can't even remember how many times I've written to 'Support' already about this issue, and not one reply! But yet, within my 'particular search criteria', I see nearly 20 obvious fake profiles post here each and every day! I do 'my' part by spending my time to report those obvious fake profiles here, to try and make this a better site for everyone, but these obvious fake profiles never get removed. And why should I have to delete my 'long standing' profile and create another, when I would have to spend 'weeks' of my time hiding all those profiles of those scammers, those of no interest to me, those I had communicated with already that didn't go anywhere, as well as all my 'user notes' that I wrote on certain profiles, so I won't duplicate contacts. Then not to mention those 'thousands' of profiles of users that haven't even logged onto this site, going back to 2005! This site is gaining a very bad reputation within the BDSM community, because of those scammers and fake profiles here. And when someone can't even receive 'one' reply from Support, about technical issues with a 'real' profile here, that reputation within the community is looking to be well deserved!

Go to your profile and make sure the Hide Profile box isn't checked.

First, make sure you dont have your profile hidden. Then get a hobbie or something because if you are playing "profile cop" and reporting profiles YOU believe to be fake you have way to much time on your hands IMO. Who are you to decide if someone is fake? Who are you to dictate when people should log on ect. If you are so unhappy with CM why not go to one of those sites you think have such wonderful reputations.

While I agree that it is frustrating to have issues with your profile, do you really think starting a thread pissing and moaning is going to help? If I am interested in some one, I am going to pay much more attention to the things they post on the forums, than what they put in their profile. Now honestly, how many people do you think will read your OP and not come away thinking your a tad bit whinny?

I'm not familiar enough with the technical aspects of this site to assist you with the profile help. As the other folks have said, My first thought was checking to see if your profile is hidden. If you can not resolve the issue, it may be better to create a second profile so that people can view it, while explaining somewhere within the text the reason for having to do so. What I really wanted to address was your last paragraph. The "community" as a whole has never held an opinion of this site. Rather, individuals within the "community" have had different opinions due to their own personal experiences. I'm a member of the "community" and I promise that you don't speak for Me on the issue. As a member of the "community" I just block/delete the silly stuff that hits My account and I don't give it another thought. Then again, I'm too busy with My activities within the "community" that don't involve the internet to care.

When you report a profile (for whatever reason) it is NOT removed by hand! There's a certain number of reports that activate an automatic removal. What that number of reports is has never been revealed. AND that's the answer to "who decides fakes?" We ALL have the responsibility to make our decisions known thru the reporting system. Please do NOT just "block and delete." Please make it "block, REPORT and delete."

Lance, My Dear, you are indeed correct. I did miss that word "report" in My reply. You'll forgive an old gal who's still infusing her caffeine, won't you? LOL. I do happen to think that females get fewer scam variety profiles that actually require the report function. I did have a run there for about four or five days that I reported a profile a day, all from Ghana. Even that streak was unusually high for Me. I do have a policy of reporting anyone who writes Me and has a cock shot as their primary photo, but that isn't nearly the same thing. It's not that I don't understand the OP's frustration with the matter. I would be very unhappy if I had to create a new profile and start any of the blocking process over again. Can you imagine a woman having to start from scratch considering all of the folks that she's blocked over the years?

TBH I think CM needs to put some sort of safeguards in place to stop the scammer flooding. it gets to the point where people who are genuinely looking for someone else (including myself.... my 'first' of sorts) can get very disillusioned and tar everyone with the same brush (although is IS nice to get the occasional Cmail simply saying "Thanks, not interested, but nice to see this site isn't full of assholes). I recently came across a site that I am considering supplementing my CM searches with but I liked their application process. although there was one aspect i didn't particularly agree with it seemed as though it would be very effective at weeding out the fakes. from the site in question: quote: Dom/me accounts will be required to provide 3 verifications photo's to complete a successful registration these must All include both your face and either on a piece of paper or written on your body clearly hand written with the website name your username and a code which we will give you with the link to upload your photo's. If I need to verify my gender or label (in my case, switch, which the site you mentioned doesn't appear to take into account) with a nude photo then I will just have to be seen as a fake. I'm not even going to start with the idea of a proper "uniform" according to labelling. To the OP- Sorry to hear you're having problems with your profile. I'd suggest starting a new one but it seems you'd rather not, which I can understand. As for the fake/scammer profiles...I usually don't have a hard time sussing out someone's believability and avoiding them if they seem too good/too extreme to be true.

Well, the idea was the 3 verification photos. along with a randomly generated number I agree the parts you bolded ARE a bit too much. but then i suppose the way they see it is if you ARE genuine (read desperate) you'll do it. I did however butcher the TOS of that site a little as it was on 3 seperate web pages depending on which profile you wish to create The first block relates to Dom(me)s, the second Subs and lastly slaves.
