i sometimes find myself in a position that i would like to say something on here but not necessarily start a thread over it, and if you find that happening to you too, then this may be the place for you to express yourself.

i labelled this thread Nostalgia and Random Thoughts because it is for anyone who wishes to talk about anything that comes to mind that you really do not want to start a thread about.   So with no topic boundaries, if any of you are interested you can take it where ever you want to go and talk about things you may not otherwise post.  Never know could be fun  :)

i did something rare last nite.

i rented an ancient movie that has about the same level of stoopidity as "the attack of the killer tomatoes".   i seen it once when i was a child and it is so old and the animation is so poor its funny but i definitely got a kick out of seeing it again just for grins.

Ha i didnt tell you what it was did i.   LOL  It was called gargoyles!

There was a character in the series called Angella (Daemona and Goliath's daughter). Bat wings, powerful, feared, but tender...

le sigh

Okay, nostalgia.  I used to own Purple Rain (I just parted with it on Ebay--decided I needed to move on) and watched it every now and then for nostalgia sake.  I was really into that early 80's scene and going to college.

I miss how as a kid things like the heat of summer didn't bother me. It could be, I don't know, 200 degrees, shit'd be melting all around me, but I didn't care, I'd be running like a prison escapee from dawn to dusk. Now......I go outside and immediately start wishing for a portable a/c....

And I miss being able to run like a kid.... I feel a weekend sports injury coming on.

Disney made a heinous spin-off cartoon of that movie.  I used to watch it when I was twelve.

If memory serves me right... not in mood to google right now.. wasn't Adrienne Barbeau in Gargoyles? I'm a sucker for the older flicks.. The Mummy, THEM!!... stuff like that... originals... night of the living dead, invasion of the body snatchers... they just don't make them that good no more. I love the jump out and scare the hell out of me more than the so called blood and guts. Or Good ole war flicks.. Dirty Dozen, In Harms way..... now a days.. everyone just remakes an tweeks an they're not as good. Sighs... I feel sorry for the one who tries to remake All in the Family... or Maude... lmao (Ok , I like the oldies.. what can I say.)

I loved the gargoyles cartoon, it was very romantic.

As for random thoughts, if someone invented a microwave oven cleaner they would make millions. Yes I know there are other cleaning products you can use, or baking soda etc. It is just interesting to me that with the gazillion cleaning products on the market you can not find a bottle of spray stuff called 'microwave oven cleaner.'

truesub,

Then you would definitely love "It came from outerspace" and "The thing"  The Thing was played by an up and coming actor who needed a break in the movies so he play "The Thing."  Any idea who he was?  I'll give yu a hint...Miss Kitty was his woman.

Nostalgia: My dad's beat-up, brown cowboy boots. ::sigh::  He never wears cowboy boots anymore. I still remember the smell of the leather when I'd take them off for him.

I bet my mom doesn't miss the scuff marks on the floor from me wearing them around the house!

Nostalgia, hmmm a hard thing to grasp at times, for if I long for something in the past, then its in the time before I had My child--and the time with her has been the most special in My life--

I miss home--we were going to move back to New Orleans soon, the area we once lived is ok, but I now fear that the path for hurricanes through there has been discovered by Mother Nature and won't quit anytime soon. New Orleans is the only place I feel 100% whole--

I miss My mom--the good times, but the last years were a struggle with severe depression, bipolarism, low self esteem, I don't miss the drama and have finally come to terms with that and am at peace again.

I miss My Dad, gone far too young and never having pleased My mom--I think.

But if any of those dominoes would have fallen differently, I would not be here, I would not have the most marvelous teen ever, I would not have met the boy--at 54 I would not be learning to ride a horse--

Nostalgia: I miss the smell of spices in the City when you drive in, I miss porch sitting, we have been here 6 years and I've seen My closest neighbors that much ( and we are out all the time!), I miss the time to take college courses, I miss the time to read with a clear mind--I miss the smile on My mom's face in the spring on the first real gardening day, I miss the feel I had when she smiled and for a few moments I knew she was happy.

Random Thoughts: I wonder what the future holds, some things at present seem to be in flux, I wonder what My Circle will look like, I wonder how mean people sleep at night and I wonder how many more threads we are going to have about rude emails, bad Dommes and wankers, I wonder if fastlane will ever show the side behind the wall, I wonder if R1 will find his Dom-may <smiles>-I wonder if I will be able to over come the mountain I see ahead of Me--I wonder if I will get to Australia to give IronBear and his family the hugs they have given Me, I wonder if I should get another cup of coffee--

I think I will.

Nah, go get a martini....

Which makes me wish I liked martini's....real ones, not the pineapple (yum!) or chocolate ones.  Because they just look and sound so delicious, and I do love the olives after they've soaked for a time.  But a basic martini is just too dry and strong for wimpy me.

My nostalgia is for Harvey Wallbangers....the first cocktail I ever fell in love with.  Orange Juice, Vodka and Liqueur Galliano.  Haven't had one in 25 years.

I miss my Grandmother. I suspect I will every day of my life. It will be a year next month, she was 105...it was not enough time. Another 100 years would not have been enough. I miss tea with her, joking with her, heart to hearts with her, watching her absolute delight over her great grandsons, watchng their delight with her.

I miss the big porch and porch swing I had growing up. I miss my horses. I miss my oldest child, who just after I had him broken in as the perfect room mate went off to college, I miss the sounds of both of my children laughing together after I have gone to bed. I miss my Dad.

Random thoughts: I wonder when my health issues will be resolved. I wonder how much longer it will really take me to get done with all my educational goals, I wonder where I will be and what I will be doing in 4 years (big 5-0), I wonder what happened to manners and common courtesey in the common man, I wonder if we will have a nice spring or if it will go straight into the dog days of summer. I wonder where my dop has wandered off to
