I had a discussion at work today with a colleague where we talked about starting to fall in love with someone whom we did not feel attracted to some years ago (eg due to lack of immediate physical attraction, due to a bigger age gap then a person thinks s/he feels comfortable with, etc....) Therefore I am wondering what the view is from the smarties on here...do you believe on love of second sight (not in general, I mean in relation to yourself)...do you think this could happen or rather not? Did you experience it? etc...multiple answers are allowed...

Interesting and rather timely question, Phoenix! I have before dated someone I had previously dated and split from. The second time round it lasted much, much longer and we were happy together for quite some time. This was quite a few years ago, but fast forward to today and...I'm currently doing the exactly the same thing again...and I believe it could really work. [:)] Of course, in both cases we didn't split because we weren't compatible - it was all about other stuff that was going on in our lives (work, families, relocation, that sort of thing). Sometimes you get caught up in the 'now' stuff, and it's only when you get a chance to reflect that you realise you could do things differently and it may have worked. Not everyone gets a second chance with someone special - you need to grab it when it happens! [:D]

It happens. Although it nearly ruined my marriage. And I lost a good friend out of it.

Some years ago? Sure. People change. Maybe he's matured or you've gotten into shape. But if everything's the same, then I can't see why an attraction would exist where it couldn't before.
