Holly - sometimes when you go to an amusement park, and night falls fast, even the young high school and college aged employees can't tell you the directions to the entrance,  they say "get on the train, it will take you to the entrance...."  sort of like you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!
ahh...okay, now i understand (well, not really...but what the hell, yanno?)

Katie...you are todays planter of earworms. First i had Send In the Clowns running through my head. Now the Eagles are singing Hotel California

Thank god- I did not dress up, put make up on-- do my hair, nails.   lol

I hope you didn't shave your legs either.  That would have been a HUGE waste of time for a bad date.  *nods*

Hang in there! Look at it this way... At least YOU stepped up and made an attempt to meet someone and be real! i think we all go thru this .. its called the "Dating Process" .. its better to have tried than not . There IS someone out there for everyone!

remember to laugh and love and live until they come along.... trial and error are a part of life and just because one person is an ass doesnt mean they all will be..

I must be missing something.  You went on a date and it sucked.  That happens all the time.  But why swear off dating?

I ate a meal a week ago and it was awful.  I haven't sworn off eating.

I think I would rather have a best friend then a date.

Hunky...do you know how rare and valuable a best friend is? The saying "a true friend is a treasure" has a great deal of merit.

Acquaintances are not friends, nor are casual dates. You cannot seek a best friend, but rather the two of you will find each other unexpectedly.

Personally, i would rather be alone than to call someone a friend who really is not.

For sure.  You ROCK!

TY.  I am going to have to have flowers and dancing.

Which I get right here on this board... metaphorically.

He made a jab a my "career"/or lack of.  Implying I should do other work.  I told him-- why would I do that?  I want to run a hedge fund.    STOMP.

I want to run a hedge farm.

Rows and rows of lovely hedges. People will come from miles around to buy them.

"Jeff" , they will say, "These are the prettiest hedges we have ever seen!"

"It's a gift" I will say. Then they will take their new hedges home and I will take their money and but nice shoes.

Would somebody, anybody, please clue me in on the "proper" use of STOMP?

I know the anteater was first up <invented it, if you will> and now we have pahunkboy following his lead.  Well, sorta, kinda following. LOL! If it becomes pervasive, I do NOT want to be making ass-u-mptions.

Thank you for your support. LOL!

Oh, damn! Thread-jack..... thread-jack..... thread-jack.

The stomp is to mimic a child who must be heard NOW.   A way of adding humor to the context.

pahunkboy:  rejection is the norm.  Relax, enjoy, learn.  Remember Edison.  All experiments yield some results.  Some resluts are positive, some negative.  Paraphrasing, y'know?

See, Mods, back on topic! (Mod = Dom spelled backward.  Is there a message?)

I have a German aunt in Chicago.   Verbose and emphatic.  When ever she was revved up telling me the saga- she would actually stomp her foot.

I thought-- it would be fun to do the stomp online....  as far as I know she still does the physical stomp.

Interesting too- she was on the last train out of Germany went Hitler went mad.

Thanks!  And I will (in the future) give credit where credit is due.

STOMP might also be a reference to to a 1990's (?) performance dance group that used percussion as the center of their performance. Percussion in this case means hands, feet, wooden staffs, garbage cans, etc. as a source of sound.
(Regrettably I never got to see any of their performances)

I am glad that your date went less than swimmingly. I do dig my homo bros and hos and I believe that you fucks should be able to do whatever you pretty much please.

You want to die for your country? Knock your socks off....You want to get married?....Great....Enjoy..Live it the fuck up!!!

You should be able to walk through this world unabated without a fear of discrimination and be able to worship Jesus, Judy or any deity that floats your boat.

But where in the Hell did you fuckers ever come to the conclusion that you deserve some form of happiness?

Not on my watch!!!

Go fuck yourself!
