If treasure wants to participate out here, then she might want to answer those who question her methodology.

lol... My methodology?

Okay... my methodology is to try to be reasonable and see all sides.  You may not see that, but that's okay; I don't type out my thoughts and reasoning in every area and I'm not out to win any popularity contest.

What I suspect you do see is me posting quite often on what seems the side of the far right.  The reason being is because what I see is the far right most often attacked unfairly here.  I don't post often in defense of the left because most often those attacks I view as so extremist that I doubt anyone would take them seriously to begin with.  However, I will and have stepped in when I feel compelled to do so.

I do have my biases and I attempt to look past them to see the bigger picture.  I'm not always able to do so, but that is my concern... not yours.  I am not here to be judged by you.

She tends not to answer those that question her posts. I don't think these are gratuitous insults but rather accurate statements based upon her posting history.

Believe it or not, I choose which posts I wish to reply to and which I do not.  I'm under no obligation here, to you or anyone else.  If I ignore you, you can rest assured it is because that is my choice.  You are free to assign any motivation for my silence that you wish to in your own mind, but just know that I'm under no obligation to either prove or disprove that notion.

That you feel frustration when I don't allow you to pull my strings is not my problem, but yours.

For future reference, I'm more likely to engage with individuals who appear to make an attempt to be nonjudgmental and open-minded.  Assuming you know what I think and feel, attempting to pigeonhole me, maligning my character, and demanding that I answer for the perceived wrongs made by every idiot out there, is the fast track for getting ignored.

If she chooses to participate she has to be up to being called in on the carpet when she is less then genuine in her motives and actions.

I assure you that I am always genuine in my motives and actions.  Whether I am right or wrong in those motives and actions is my concern.  What I don't feel obligated to pander to is judgment from outsiders who try to decide for me what my motives are.

Go back and read the thread....She mentions the FDIC. Not exactly the way to further an argument. She doesn't answer the hard questions presented to her but rather attacks or deflects the question altogether.

Yes, I mentioned the FDIC.  There was no argument to further.  Politesub said that he had asked many times and had not received a serious answer to his question.  Defensible or not, I offered one.

My comment was not an open invitation to you to bombard me with questions that had no bearing on my comment.  I did not ask for you to rant and rave at me about issues you perceive.  You made many judgments in that post that were unfounded with regard to me and I saw no reason to dignify you with a serious response.

You have every right to take exception to anything I say, pose any questions you'd like, make any attacks you desire.  However, it is my right to choose to ignore you.  I'm sorry if it bothers you so much that I do not rise to your bait.

Try leaving out the accusations, jabs, and insults next time... really read what I have written and don't try to assume my position before I present it, and maybe next time we can have a true discussion.

If you are suggesting that your posts slant so far right only because you're trying to balance the discourse here, then no. A "true discussion" is probably not possible.

Ahhh... I see.  A true discussion can only happen when everyone already agrees.

Got it.

They may appear to "slant right" only because many of the posters here on CM are so far left as to be in "la la land".

In the real world, Treasure would be considered generally a moderate.

However, in our own eyes, both of us are classical liberals, with a twist.  That "twist" being the belief that religion can and does play a valuable supporting role in a civil society.

No, a true discussion would happen with honesty as a foundation.

You honestly only write from the perspective of the right wing, conservative viewpoint because you're trying to make a more balanced forum experience and the left doesn't need it?

Okay... I understand what you meant now and I'm sorry.

I don't see everything as black and white and I don't think it is dishonest to see and somewhat agree with both sides to an issue.  And just because I might personally lean toward one side in the end, that doesn't mean that I don't understand and sympathize with the other side.

As an example, I very much understand the desire to protect womens' rights to exercise control over their own bodies and to choose an abortion.  But I also understand the desire to protect the sanctity of life.  In the end, I probably lean more towards the conservative side in limiting when a woman can choose to abort, but I still think abortion should be legal.

If there was a thread on here discussing abortion and the majority of posters appeared to be lambasting and ridiculing anyone who believed that abortion should be allowed, and those posters were making all sorts of exaggerated claims about the evils of abortion and those who choose it, I would step in on what would be considered the liberal side to defend abortion.

Equally, if instead the majority of posters appeared to be lambasting and ridiculing anyone who was against abortion, and were making all sorts of exaggerated claims about the evils of pro-lifers, I would step in on what would be considered the conservative side.

What I prefer is truthful discourse that acknowledges that the world is not so cut and dried as we'd like to sometimes believe it is.

I understand understanding the other side, I don't think that's questionable or has been questioned. I watch Fox news*.

I guess I don't know why you might post as "Treasure expressing her views" if you are instead providing some balance you feel is lacking.

Then again, I don't know why I posted here at all, actually

*It produces bile, hives, panic attacks, rosacea, heebeejeebies and phronemophobia. Ask your doctor if Fox news is right for you.

Again, it isn't all black or all white.

I just don't see the forums here as nothing more than a repository for my views.  Why would anyone post if all they were going to do is deposit their concrete opinion and block everything else out?

Who is deposit[ing] their concrete opinion and block[ing] everything else out?

When did you decide you should provide an opposing view instead of expressing your real, personal opinions?

Subtee... I do express my real, personal opinions.  Sometimes those opinions are about what I firmly believe, sometimes they are about what I'm somewhat certain of, and sometimes they are about what I understand other people to believe.

You know, playing devil's advocate or trying to see the other person's point of view isn't a bad thing.  Believe it or not, I come here to have discussions, share information and ideas, and absorb other peoples ideas with the possibility of changing my own position or just reaffirming it... not just simply plop down what I think and everyone else be damned.

I would hope there are others here who are just as willing to share, educate, learn and grow, too.  I believe I've seen a few.

What a load of stinkin' crap. Your "real personal opinions?" Too fucking funny...What, Is Fox news your cerebral cortex?

You have proven you are incapable to defend your positions so why would anyone believe that these thoughts are your own?
The problem is that the little Fox News in your Cerebral cortex only furnishes you the rough draft of the ideology not the way to defend it.

It is apparent that you have accumulated enough skills to type out someone elses thoughts and that is the extent of your abilities.

This forum thang is really is beyond your scope.

BUMP!!!!

Let's get this thread off of defensless treasure and back on how the Tea bagger talking heads are racist fucksticks.....

http://www.newsoxy.com/world/glenn-beck-and-malia-obama-13238.html

Host Glenn Beck and Malia Obama

Published: May 30, 2010

Glenn Beck and Malia Obama joke was unacceptable. Beck apologized to President Obama and one of his daughters, Milia, shortly after the his radio show on Fox. He revealed a lot of guilt for bringing a young family member into his political debate......

.......During the news conference, the president said Malia had asked him "Daddy? Daddy? Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?" The Fox host, along with his co-host Pat Gray, responded by imitating what the conversation was like. Beck imitated the daughter by asking the question, Gray responded, "Honey, not yet... Not time yet, honey. Hasn't done enough damage," Gray said.

Later in the segment, Glenn Beck turned the routine toward race. "Why do you hate black people so much?" he said, still imitating in a child's voice. "I'm part white, honey," Gray responded in the voice of the president. It's uncertain if Fox asked him to make the apology or not.

This is the same Glenn Beck that is highlighted in Sanity's "Don't tread on us." signature?

"Don't tread on us" = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL5bPJFHRnA&feature=player_embedded

Now we know that there are no spokesperson for the teabaggers ( lol)....But why does it seem that damn near every spokesperson that happens to open their mouth in support of the teabagger "movement" is a racist cocksucking dick?

It can't be because it represents the ideology of the people that calling themselves teabaggers, could it?

No one is showing much outrage at Glenny or any other of the fucks that routinely do this type of shit.

It's only because you secretly agree with them.

Domi, I was told today that if something is in inverted commas, then its comedy. I think we are both missing a trick here, as I still see it as racism.
