SophiaChan -> my sister's dog gets so much more attention than me!! (5/31/2010 9:34:53 PM)

Of course it helps that she and her dog live in same hemisphere...

PLEASE help a super long distance relationship with some fun time suggestions...

We both seem to have lost our creativity...

No money, but plenty of time and desire.... ALL suggestions welcome :)

Lucky you aren't living at BC girl as our two dogs have a far higher social status than a slave.

It is hard to be so far away from ones sister.

Snail mail is always a real party. Surprise her with a care package, a letter detailing your day. Send her pictures of what you are wearing.

Start a bank acct you can both put money in and plan a location and meet there one day!

Call her using phone cards. I can get 2 minutes for one cent pretty much all around the world.

Skype so you can video cam!

Send her lots of good energy so she gets it through the air waves!

Thanks! I wish I could be living at BC, Bear Sir.. but alas... wasn't meant to be in my deck of cards I guess.

And its not my sister who is far away.... it is my love. And the world seems to conspire against us every which way we turn. I don't know when or how we will see each other again... but my prayers surely must be answered someday! right?!?!

And yes, we get to be on skype regularly, which I am so thankful for! Love the suggestions... please don't stop! :)

Ohhh do I know what you are talking about!

Facebook is a godsend for me and my people.

I use skype - video cam. I can call cell phones and landlines for 2 cents a minute in the USA. For xmas, one of my peeps shows me the pumpkin pie and says "here's your piece" and proceeds to eat it in front of me, taunting me with yum mmmm the whole time (where do they learn this stuff?) It's silly, but it made me really feel a part of things. I also sometimes play games on yahoo with people. You can chat while you play. We send silly little things - I send weird candies and foods and stuff I find here. They send me decaf coffee and tea and books (got a package today - thanks darling!)

We share photos, stupid every day stuff. I have also made sure to get stickers and art books or even ads from magazines. We send each other stuff. No words necessary> Remember that the receiving of mail or whatever is a joy. It doesn't need to be a 5 page letter.

I like to have a specific time I talk to folks (for me Sat. a.m. and them Fri. night). I put that aside every week for my peeps. I don't always get to talk to everyoen as often as I'd like to, but at least there is a time set aside. Sometimes people will watch the same movie as I do, and then we have a focus of what to talk about. That's kind of cool.

For Red's birthday (DaddysRedHead) on here, she had a big b'day party, and I couldn't be there, but hejira took her computer and I was able to participate in the dinner and drink a toast with them because of skype cam. I'm sure the people in the restaurant thought it was weird to have a computer at the dinner table, but who cares?

I also keep a blog that a number of people subscribe to and even more just pop on and read what I have to say. We are also doing Sunny's Book Club to get folks into doing something kind of intellectual.

That's it off the top of my head.

oh yeah, one thing I did which didn't take a *lot* of work but did take some work. I put together a slide show of my every day life. Walking out the front door, the stores I passed on my way to work, the place I had lunch, stopping by the grocery store, pix of my pharmacist, the guy who washed my clothes, the street dogs, the weird food being sold on the street, etc... just regular every day stuff so people could see the people in my life, the places I go. It was pretty cool. In fact, I would urge people to do that just for fun. It's actually kind of interesting to see what you don't see unless you are really looking.

It sounds odd, but it was kind of fun to see where she gets all nekkid and her shower... and think about Cuffkinks in there all soaped up and.... *blink* never mind about that.

Oh heck, and I just edited that out.

Hejira showed me around the bathroom she had just redecorated. Leave it to Greedy to be up and reading my posts at ... what is it 2 a.m. over there?

*naughty girl*

I have no doubt that both our Malamute boy and our Malamute/Husky girl would have you wrapped around their paws in double time. Still you are in a LDR which I know from experience is oft as frustrating as hell. Chin up lass with a little luck things will look up for you.

You don't sleep at the top of the stairs and trip up people.
I bet you don't dig nests in leather sofas either.
You can't hang yourself up by your teeth on a pickaxe handle between gateposts
You never bit the head off a weasel in a fair fight
You never pulled a car door off with your teeth
You never stole a scotch bonnet chilli and sat grinning all night
You wouldn't pull masters boots off with your teeth
You would not chew the remotes on two plasma screens that can then only be used as posh monitors.
You would not simply howl fit to die if master was one minute late home.

So in our house the Dobermann girls do get more attention that subbies.
That'll be because they own master.

Oh. I guess she's not a member of the subbie mafia then...

but my prayers surely must be answered someday! right?!?!

A friend of mine in New England met a guy from Australia online, after six months they were dating in real time and I attended the wedding last month. So it does happen, but generally requires plane tickets.
