Aileen1968 -> I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:11:11 PM)

He died on Saturday and I'm sad.
He was 15 years old and I've had him since he was four weeks old.
Just bummed...

Awww I'm so sorry Aileen.

I hear you, years later I still wake up wondering where my cat is that was absolutely the best cat ever (shhh don't tell the remaining cat).

itsmeinLV -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:16:27 PM)

Aww, my condolences, Aileen1968.  [:(] He was a beautiful dog.  :)

*hugs Aileen*

I still mourn all my 'gone' furbabies...

remember the Rainbow bridge....

I'm sorry, Aileen [:)]

Jeffff -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:18:41 PM)

Awww fuck.... I cried when My 19 year old dog had to be. put to sleep.

I hate it when you seem human.

Musicmystery -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:19:22 PM)

I'm sorry to hear this, Aileen.

I lost my last dog at 15, found her when she was 6 weeks, went everywhere together. I feel for you.

twistedwillow -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:20:50 PM)

Oh Aileen, big hugs.... he was a beautiful boy.
It has been 9 years since my girl passed away, and my son and I still break down crying for her.
As Greedy said ... remember the Rainbow Bridge, and, a Dr Seuss gem, 'Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Aileen1968 -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:23:16 PM)

Aww thanks guys...I've been on and off weepy for days. He's buried next to my two 19 year old cats that he spent his lifetime with.
He died down at Shore's beach house. I think it traumatized Shore's five year old niece and nephew.
I have no one to eat my pizza crusts. And I still think that I have to walk him....
It's just strange and my home is so lonely.

DarlingSavage -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:28:20 PM)

I still miss Francis and he's been gone a LONG time.  He was so cute, he always had that one bottom tooth sticking out of his mouth.  You'll have to tell us some stories about your guy.

GreedyTop -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:28:27 PM)

Aileen.. I so hurt for you..

When I lost Gracious, it was losing a piece of myself.. Noodgie, too.

One of the things I hate about being a HUMAN is losing the furry parts of my life.....

pahunkboy -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:29:42 PM)

Think of all the happy times?

Hugs

lucylucy -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:31:34 PM)

Oh, I'm so sorry.

When my sister's cat died, I wrote down all the funny little stories people told me about him (like your dog eating your pizza crusts) and made a book for her with the stories and some photos of him. Maybe you could do something like that right now while all the memories are flooding you.

pahunkboy -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:37:43 PM)

What ever you do- never ask the guys at silver board- if you may have a pony!

You may not even THINK of ponies!!!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AtHerHeels1 -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:47:04 PM)

Wow, so sorry, Aileen.  I've lost three of my fur people in the last 7 years, and it still hurts.  When the last one died about two years ago, I think I played the song "Shannon" about a hundred times (For the youngsters... it's an old 70s song by Henry Gross about Beach Boy Carl Wilson's Irish Setter who died - YouTube it!).

I'm just thankful for the two who are left!  As others have said, remember the Rainbow Bridge!

Daddysredhead -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 7:58:53 PM)

I'm sorry for your loss.  They are family, and it always hurts.

xxblushesxx -> RE: I miss my dog (6/2/2010 8:01:16 PM)

I'm so sorry. He looked like quite the guy.

I'm having SO much fun loving on our new little fur baby (teh little flame point himi)

But I know the price we've paid to have this fun is saying goodbye to others too soon.

But you know...I think having these adorable creatures in our lives, learning to say hello, and learning to say goodbye, we are given a gift that we possibly can't appreciate at this time...

I'm almost afraid to know what future lesson we need to learn to harden us so. But I do appreciate the love we're given in the mean time.

Aileen, I have no doubt you'll see your sweetie again. I also have no doubt that that is no consolation at this time.

You just keep him close to your heart and do what you need to do.

I'm so sorry about your baby. You gave him so many good years, and that's all you could do.

I don't know what to say that won't sound empty....I'm just wicked sorry. I lost my two labs 2 years ago, they were 14 and I had them since they were babies. I still tear up. It sucks. I am so truly sorry. He was gorgeous. It does get better.

Btw, I did this too, for several weeks.

A new puppy helps a lot. When you're ready.
