Well, I think Paul is a nice guy and he's a legend.

I think Obama is a nice guy, but he has no clue how to lead. I'm very disappointed in him. He has failed to be the leader he seemed to be during the campaign. He was all for THE PUBLIC OPTION and it got watered down. Did he fight for what he campaigned on? NO, he took what he could get.

He said he would end the war in Iraq - has it ended? No.

He said he'd repeal DADT, and now he is stalling it, when he could easily issue a signing statement and end it - He is the president, he reminded himself of that in Louisiana the other day.

But he is revealing himself to be inept and indecisive about doing what he promised, and worse, he is not handling this oil spill well at all.

Paul McCartney: Obama is a 'Great Guy'

At a press conference Tuesday at the Library of Congress, legendary English singer, composer and song-writer Paul McCartney praised President Obama.

Paul McCartney's playing the White House tonight and he thinks people should stop giving his host a hard time. "I’m a big fan, he’s a great guy," McCartney said of President Obama. "So lay off him, he’s doing great." McCartney, this year's winner of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, will perform at a concert honoring his work along with Stevie Wonder, the Jonas Brothers, Faith Hill, and Dave Grohl, ABC News reports.

uh-oh....what was Paul thinking!?

Now,mysteriously and rapidly, now he will become the cons most hated, enemy #1 du jour and demonized.

Even Jesus wouldn`t be spared the politics-by-character-assassination from cons
.

I think he is an awesome entertainer and it's great that he is getting to play at the White House. It sounds like it's going to be a great show.

It is kinda sad that your opinion about Obama is changing though, just when you guys had become pen pals and all. Is it the job he is doing or did you finally figure out that he really is a Christian?

He said he would end the war in Iraq - has it ended? No.

It is, however, quite substantially reduced. It's where the Afghanistan surge troops came from--exactly his priorities in the campaign, incidentally. Realistically, we'll have a troop presence in Iraq for decades.

he is not handling this oil spill well at all.

Like I ask everyone chanting this tune--what specifically should he be doing that he isn't already?

The military was there immediately, government resources available immediately, experts gathered immediately--but government isn't in the oil business--BP is.

So what should he do that he hasn't already?

I saw a retired military person interviewed on MSNBC, forgot his name, and he was talking about how the military is good at co-ordinating. He was talking about using the military to coordinate private sector and military resources together to create synergy where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

My view is that the military has a lot of bright professionals, engineers and others, as well as the assets like submarines to get down deep in the water to take a good look at the problem and take action to stop it.

I think the main thing Obama has to do is get results. People don't care how it's done they just want the hole plugged. I remember asking a lawyer several years ago why another lawyer was so busy and he said it's because he gets results. What Obama has to do is get results.

I would keep pouring cement over it until it's completely covered with heavy cement until the pressure is so great or heavy to stop it. Not sophisticated, but if it works who cares.

Brain,

The military has been there from day one. A coast guard leader, forgot his name, is in charge.

As for cement, you're ignoring that this is coming up with considerable force. You'd just build a concrete mountain with an oil well in the center--or make things worse by dispersing the single leak into multiple ones.

The bottom is sandy. This isn't like plugging a whole on land.

The Coast Guard has submarines?

The other thing I learned recently, again it was on MSNBC, they talked about another spill about 20 - 30 years ago and they said they used big oil tankers to clean up or collect the oil in the water. They could at least do that and collect the oil.
